Whose expression was it ?
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:02:43 PM »
Just got an idea for a new game, I hope we don't have something similar currently running, I've been "out of touch" lately.

Here's the idea, somebody gives an expression that was often used in a movie, others have to find the movie title and the character.

Let start with an easy one to demonstrate the game.

"There it is !"

Austin Powers? First one? Unless I've misunderstood the game... :-[

Well I never seen the Austin Powers movies so maybe someone there was using the expression.  When I posted it I was referring to "Amadeus" where Joseph II keeps saying it.  Then, I screwed up because the exact expression was "Hu ! Hu ! There is it !" and then I screwed up again because it didn't occur to me that an expression could have been used in more than one movie.

I guess this game still needs a little tweaking.

 :hysterical:

Perhaps if you'd put the "Hu! Hu!" bit in, I would have dismissed Powers!

Let me have a go...

"The name's Bond. James Bond."

Erm. Perhaps someone else should try?  :bag:

Ok, let's call this game a bad idea.  Could we please keep that between us while I go hide in shame with no dignity left.

Here is one, looking for the movie title and the actor/actress full name.

-"Oh, yeah, I think I got the thrust of it."

Kathy,

You have the title in your collection (twice), you must like it. And the clues they have given! I was fairly sure I knew it and should have watched it to be positive, but also cheated.

From the same movie:
She says: Wait, don't pull it out. I'm not finished with it yet.
He says: See? It's a perfect fit.
She says: Uh-hm. Leave it in.
He says: It's gotta come out sooner or later.

The movie is "Die another day" but you misunderstood the game Xyrano.  The idea was to name expressions that are used repeatedly by movie characters, not just one sentence.

In my example for instance, Joseph II in Amadeus says "Huh, huh, there it is", on many occasions.
