Oh .. i was talking about the American remake .. the lack of sensuality that was in the original.

But you are right .. most of the people I know don't really like subtitles but many of then will watch.  I would rather not have subtitles .. if you are busy reading you aren't immersing in the film.  But with out them you miss some good films.

I find that really depends on the film. Dialog heavy films, which s possibly spoken very fast, can be a problem, as you can hardly keep up with the text. Otherwise I find that I can quickly read the text and still catch enough of the performances to be engaged.

Original is by far better with even more consistency and plausibility in the story. The strange relationship between Oskar and Eli is explained much better, the roles of the supporting actors now actually add something instead of just being extras. Great one!
Had to downgrade my rating of the remake to 2.5/5

I find this true when I go to the opera but not so with films <g> but then it wouldn't be me if i wasn't a bit odd
