Well, if your character is level 80 overall, you do get a damage bonus. But having a neglected 2-hand skill at level 15 will severely hinder your damage output. But technically, by the time you are level 80, your armor will be so strong you should be able to beat anything with your bare hands (especially if you're Khajiit! +10 claw damage barehanded )

Achim

Well, I am an Argonian(sp?), so no claw bonus, but I can breathe under water.

I was asking, because 2-handed happens to be the one skill I am heavily neglecting  I am using light armr ony and, like you in your current playthrough, prefer to pick off enemies silently.

Picking enemies off silently is awesome. I feel so badass when I creep to two guys chatting, slit throat one guy, cast calm on the other, go hide in a corner, then move back in and slit his throat! The slit throat animation just doesn't get old!

I barely ever use my bow anymore. I've found a "Throw Voice" shout which has the same effect as shooting an arrow at a wall, meaning it produces a sound that catches the enemies attention. Just move in while they are distracted, and mop up ;)

Oh and if you're having problems creeping up to the enemies without being detected, get the muffled movement perk in the Sneak tree - until you can get the one that makes your light armor weigh nothing. It gives a big improvement to you undetectability.

Achim

So, going commando or perk... Figured a much.

I am just not good enough to take on several enemies at once. Bunch of humanoids, a wolf and a bear, undeads. Picking them off is satisfying indeed and I enjoy the hunt.

Will Abe to checkout Calm and those Theow Voice things. May have seen Calm for sale, but not the voice thing yet.

Is a dagger simply one-handed skill?

I just had fun watching this:

1-Handed and Sneak. Basically get Armsman in 1-Handed to raise damage, then the 15x damage with dagger. Then if you can sneak your way to the enemy, you are invicible. Especially since you can get at least 2 hits (3 if dual wielding) at 15x damage before the enemy finds you.

Yeah.. But I was hoping for something more "legit". He uses the console too much. I wish he would re-release it, but keep only the "legit" death.

Didn't think of dual-wielding; must get a second dagger for that. I have a dwarven dagger right now, which has the most damage of those I have found thus far.

I suppose Armsman will then also help with my swords, even the bound one, since those are 1-handed as well.

I didn't notice/recognize what would be console. Or you mean the stuff where he seemed to randomly die while walking? It was obvious, however, that a lot of the stuff was deliberate (meaning he let get himself killed after provoking the enemy) and some didn't actually result in death.

Wanted to play a little bit today, but it would seem the new dashboard update is out for Xbox.. thing is, the release isn't going too well. I keep getting errors mid download. So sod it, I turned it off, and am watching my backlog of Craig Ferguson instead.

I guess it's Karma. Got so far behind on Craig Ferguson because I'm playing too much Skyrim .. now I'm catching up because I can't won't play Skyrim until the update issue is resolved!

Achim

Since I didn't play last night I am actually contemplating whether I should watch any DVD tonight at all or go straight to Skyrim instead  Well, maybe just one episode of a TV show to enjoy while eating my dinner... :hmmmm:

My save file is getting bigger and the bugs relating to its size (PS3) have not been finally removed. I am getting worried I'll have to take a forced break shortly as well. :fingerchew:

Dragonfire

I played WoW a bit tonight..got my mage up another level.  That's about it for me and games.  I still need to play Bioshock again.

I am actually caught up on Craig Ferguson, except for seeing the first half of tonight's show.  There have been times when I've had a few weeks of shows to get through.
I still have movies on my DVR I haven't gotten to...the last episode of Bones....some Top Gear.  Fringe...so I'm behind on other stuff..keep thinking I'll take some time to catch up, and then I don't.  Someday I'll manage it.

Najemikon

Top Gear... that reminds me! Marie, did you hear about Clarkson putting his foot in it again last week?

Our public sector workers (Teachers, in particular) were angry about Government proposals to make them work a couple of years past their proposed retirement age (65 to 67), pay more into their pension each month and get less back from their pension when they start to draw it! Ok, I'd pissed about that too, but being a private sector worker, I have no guaranteed pension at all and generally less pay, so many of us were a bit annoyed when 2 million teachers et al went on strike.

Clarkson had an opinion. One that he later had to apologise for, but one that was so typical of him!  :hysterical:

Lydia...

In general she is still quite awesome as a companion. I gave her this Elven(?) Mace that takes health away from the target. She really kicks butt with that, when ashe decides to use it.

But yesterday was really awkward. She annoyed me as I had to replay a section 4 times, spending 45minutes without progress.
We are in an ice-cave on our way to Dawnstar (under a lighthouse). The path makes a sudden dropand below are two Chaurus. On first approach she runs ahead, drops down and helps me kill the two enemies. Then we proceed and I end up accidentally killing her when we battle a second set of Chaurus. No biggies, I think while I reload. Second time I run ahead and she stays on top, seemingly afraid to jump down :slaphead: Since it's a drop, I cannot get back to her, so I reload again. Third time she still doen't follow, so I reload once ygain. This time I let her go first, then I follow. but she insists on staying on an intermediate level (which I luckily could jump back). Then I ended up pushing her of using the force shout

I am level 20something now and I notice her getting weaker. Can she deal with heavy armor? That could extend her usabilty :hmmmm:

She becomes really squishy. But, as a default armor, she has a full set of Steel, but if you find / smith a better set, she will wear it. And yes, she prioritizes heavy armor. And 2-handed weapons.

On the same "Fus Ro Dah" note .. I found this one much funnier than it actually is I'll wager .. still, I can't stop laughing! (cruelly, I lost it at that little girl that gets kicked ..  :bag:)

Ok .. I'll stop after this one .. promise!

Dragonfire

Jon,

No I hadn't heard about that.  But I know he's done it in the past..and that some people have gotten all ticked about stuff Richard and James have said on the show too.

Well....that does seem like a typical Jeremy thing to say.  It seemed from the way he said it that he meant it as a joke.  Probably not the best time or place to say it, but that's his sense of humor.  And he tends to say what he thinks.

I watched some of the episodes I had on my DVR last night..the best challenges.  They are still so funny and entertaining...like when they made the convertible van and then caught a car wash on fire.   :hysterical:

Oh...I've been meaning to tell you Jon.  I've gotten 2 other people hooked on Top Gear.   ;D
I was chatting online with a friend from Epinions and told him about the show.  He thought it sounded interesting.  He and his teenage son are now hooked on it.

I also sent him links of Katherine Jenkins singing because he likes opera and he really liked her too. :)

Now I just have to get him to watch Doctor Who.... ;)

OMG, I had no idea this was such a phenomenon on YouTube. There is hundreds of them!

That particular one was the funniest one I have seen. Except the scene with the little girl, which was more of a cringe moment to me (admittedly, she was stupid enough to run in there).
