Dragonfire

I get sidetracked in WoW too...I'll be heading somewhere to do some quests or whatever..then I decide to work on archeology or something like that and I never get to what I originally intended to do.

RossRoy

Something odd happened in my game, and I hope it is not a sign of things to come ..

I was on my way to do a quest, walking around in the wilderness. Then, a Dragon appeared out of nowhere. When appeared, I do mean, appeared! I was literally standing on top of said dragon! It spawned right underneath me! The rest of the fight went as you would expect - me kill dragon - but it was a bit unnerving to say the least to be thrown off a dragon's back which was not there mere seconds before! ;)

And then the game started glitching. Mammoths appearing in mid-air. Skeletons rolling down hills for no reason. Mirmulnir's bones spawning right on top of me when I got out of Whiterun. I decided to shut off my Xbox at that point - just in case it's a sign that it's overheating.

Achim

Maybe it's an underground dragon...? :P

Well, it's a Bethesda game... On PS3 at least there is a problem with save files right now, usually when thy get bigger than 6MB. It can hardly be worse than New Vegas  just save early and save often.

A patch was supposed to be released at Thanksgiving weekend, is that out yet?

RossRoy

It's not out yet on 360 in any case.

And I know Bethesda games a full of glitches, but I was having such a smooth game so far. Not a single really WTF glitch. And then they all started happening at once! Oh well.

One thing I hope the patch fixes is that I'm stuck with a MISC item that game decide is a "Quest item" .. problem is, the door that item is supposed to open, well, I have opened it already! I don't need the fricken'item anymore! But that's minor, especially when compared to sudden earth dragon spawn and flying mammoths ;)

Achim

I suddenly cannot dop/store Alto Wine anymore, telling me it's a quest item. Not sure what quest that would be though :-\

Agreed, in overall the game is running better thn usual. Like, as I said, New Vegas. But even with te latter it took a while for the bugs to creep in. But then, New Vegas mostly froze on me, never really saw strange bugs myself.

You already forgot just how drunk you were? I mean, you did wake up in Markarth after all! (you should also have a Giant's Toe that you can't do anything about)

I've had a few freeze with Skyrim, but again, nothing game breaking. I used those freezes as reminders that I should probably take a break ;)

Dragon souls don't get stored, so right now I have a shout waiting to be activated...

They don't?? I think they do .. you have the "in stock" until you choose what shout to unlock .. or maybe I'm mistaken, but I seem to remember having 2 or 3 souls awaiting shouts to unlock.
Let me recheck that on Thursday :-[ I was surprised when nothing happened, seems I might have forgotten I need to manually unlock the new shout :bag: (fire breathing, really want that one!).

At that pace, I'll never finish this game!  :slaphead:

Well, I only remember three glasses, honest! I may have been drugged :o Well, I think I saw the toe, hadn't tried to remove it yet. It all happened rather quickly that I only remember half the ialog with that lady in Markarth. :bag: Will have to figure out the details as I move along; thank god for quest markers  maybe I can find the quest on YouTube and watch that opening again. :hmmmm:

Due to the PS3 problems they even recommended leaving the game occasionally as to allow to reset as much as possible. They mean, since the game remembers so many things! They even recommended not to change state f two many doors or other items :slaphead:

Wow! You must've been really drunk!

There's a sort of "maintenance" option I can do on the Xbox, which basically clears all the cache and game updates and some more stuff I don't know about. It usually helps with buggy games, so I've taken the habit of doing it every once in a while. Maybe you have something similar for PS3? Or that good ol' trick of the original Xbox - run 3 different games, which effectively removes any cached content from the game you actually want to play ;)

Achim

Maybe I wasn't drunk, maybe I was drugged? :hmmmm:

Well, so far rebooting the PS3 (with a freeze that's a given) has solved problems for a suffucient amount of time. Have yet to get my first trouble with Skyrim (*knocks frenetically on wood*).

Of course you were right. :bag: The souls were in stock, I simply needed to unlock the shout. ...and wow, what a shout that is. Fire breath seems I blow everyone away

Explored this super-creepy dungeon last night. Seems a bunch of mages of together torturing kajhit, vampires and Nords. Shouldn't have done that, now they are all dead

Yesterday I thought I really need to work on my quest log. Started heading out from Markath towards a quest target. Then found that mine where people were attacked, promised to help them and still went into their mine first to see what I can find... :slaphead: 25hours in and hardly scratched the surface of that map. This is insane!

Tell me about it! I was (yes past tense, more on that in a bit) about 35 hours in, and you could still see the path I took back from Markath on the map. All the locations I had visited were pretty much on a straight line between Whiterun and Markarth. That left a hell of a lot to cover yet!

Alas, it is not to be. I made a mistake, wanting to uninstall the latest patch which caused me more headaches than good .. I ended up deleting all my savegames ..  :voodoo: It's my own damn fault for not really looking at what I was doing .. but it's so frustrating. I'm not even sure I want to start again yet.

One of the glitch I got with the new patch is that I restarted a new game to show a friend the intro, because he wanted to see a dragon and I had been roaming the land for a bit but all dragons were no-show. It then dawned on me that there is one during the intro, so I could just start a new game, and show him that dragon.

But it glitched. Right after you are saved by said dragon, you run into a tower, where the dragon should break a wall and "Yol Tuur Shul" the place! But it broke the wall and just stood there. It was just looking at me, but not attacking at all. It's actually creepy to be able to look a dragon in the eye, with it not attacking at all! ;)

Did you see that video? Pretty girl singing a pretty song prettily! ;)

If you are wondering, here's what she saying:
QuoteDOVahKiiN DOVahKiiN

ahRK FIN NOROK PaaL GRaaN

Or, if you prefer:
QuoteDragonborn Dragonborn

To keep evil forever at bay
And the fiercest foes rout
When they hear triumph's shout
Dragonborn for your blessing we pray

Indeed! ...and we can download it too

BTW, you probably know, the entire soundtrack is available on three(!) CDs. An iTunes version is supposed to be available soon (which is what I am waiting for).

You can download everything you want from YouTube
Use a website like this, let the magic works and you got an mp3 ;D

For me it isn't different than taping a song playing at the radio as I did often when I was a kid...

Sometimes you need an mp3 editor to remove the useless part from the resulting mp3 and it isn't hard to find a free one...

I tried to resist, but as you know, "Resistance is Futile" against Borg Skyrim. So I bought this: http://www.directsong.com/mobile/productdetails.php?productid=2240
