That's exactly what they are there for. They should fill up the scenery but not distract from the main cast.
On the other hand it's now a nerd-fest to find Jesse Heiman, which may either kill or promote his career, you never know with Hollywood.

While you're on it: Check your collection for "Bess Flowers" she has approx. 800 appearances starting 1923 to 1965

I  have Bess Flowers in 69 profiles - she is uncredited in all but 3.
