I saw that crazy cat lady on the news. Horrible, wheelie bins are really tall as well, a cat would have no chance of getting out of there.

....This happened in my City.... the woman who did it is now under police guard.

I heard that 4chan found her address. If anyone can make someones life a living hell it's 4chan. I'm glad they found her.

It's absolutely harmless.

I'm not. That isn't justice. The RSPCA is powerful enough to get her prosecuted properly and reasonably. No-one deserves the full force of a rabid Internet mob; she should be heavily fined and banned from keeping pets at the very least. There was a death threat group set-up on Facebook... that just beggars belief.

Here in the UK we do tend to have bad enough anti-social crime anyway in any part of the country, without giving them an excuse. I wouldn't be surprised if she has to move away.

Jon I agree, I think that it is pretty wrong for people to be treating her the way they are....she may even loose her job. HOWEVER! I do think that she deserves any fine/penalty that the RSPCA or the Police give her... and I think what she did was disgusting.

Kathy

What that woman did is despicable. This was a deliberate act of cruelty and I doubt that it is the first time she did such a thing.

Who would even think of doing something like that?  Imagine wanting to see that poor animal starving, left in the terrible heat without water and then being crushed to death by the garbage truck.

I hope her life has turned into a living hell. She deserves any and all the outrage that has been garnered against her. And the police protection - she should be forced to pay those charges herself.

Najemikon

Kathy, I really don't disagree. Anyone who does that deserves the full weight of the law on her back. But honestly, this is dangerous. She could be killed and I'm not exaggerating. I don't know what the area is like where she lives, but people have been murdered by local thugs just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And that wrong place can easily be your own front porch.

Lose her livelihood, lose her job, lose her liberty... I'd support any of those for what she did. But I draw the line at the sort of bullying she could be in for. Hopefully it won't go further, but I just have a horrible feeling.

Najemikon

Oh, I should mention. Last I heard, this "police guard" was merely Community Support officers. They're volunteers and not proper coppers.  ;)

Kathy

My cats have decided the perfect punishment for her evil misdeeds. They want her tossed into a garbage can and the lid sealed so she can not open it. She should be left sitting in garbage, wallowing in her own sweat and urine, for hours on end, without food or water to await her fate with the garbage truck.

Jon, the area it is in is not the worst area.... but the part of that area isn't great.... its actually on the complete opposite side of the city to where I live...

...I know Coventry, and all this talk on facebook of her being killed by those groups is ridiculous... the most that will happen is some chavvy kids will go hurl abuse at her and smash her windows....

Kathy ;p you may like this then.

Coventry's (where this happened) local radio station made this video ;)

I begin to more and more hate the German GeMA.
They are suing every content provider one by one (currently they are up against youtube). This results in less and less content being available for users that are dumb enough to keep their German IP adress and don't use a proxy located in the USA.
Example: While I'm allowed to watch "The revenge of the cats" the source-video where the lady throws the cat into the bin is not available in my country  >:(

 You can always rely on local radio, eh?

I'm sure you're right. Hopefully there will be a conviction of some sort and that'll be the end of it. Just the video appearing annually so she'll never escape her pure stupidity!

The RSPCA didn't seem to be doing anything though. From all I read it appeared they just had a "talk" with her, it doesn't make any sense. I haven't even heard of a fine. Over here the RSPCA can fine for even very small offences against animals, but this is a rather large one and should be a hefty fine at the least. If the RSCPA aren't going to lift their game and do anything then I'm glad the online groups have, otherwise she would have hardly any backlash from this at all.

Jimmy

Maybe they should stoned her, hanged her or burned her alive ::)

Seriously some people are just over the top when animals are involve... She didn't eat a baby alive, burned an hospital or willingly hit a pack of elderly with her car and flee... Sure it's bad, stupid and antisocial but it's just a cat.

Sophie going all viligante on that isn't really the brightest reaction, unless the tar and feathers punishment is always en vogue.
