The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), a review by Jimmy

MOVIE / DVD INFO:

Title: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

Genre: Horror
Director: Marcus Nispel
Rating: 18+
Length: 1h38
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1:85.1
Audio: English and French
Subtitles: English and Spanish

Stars:
Jessica Biel
Jonathan Tucker
Erica Leerhsen
Mike Vogel
Eric Balfour

Plot:
Prepare yourself for a level of fear like you've never experienced before...

A group of friends takes a detour while traveling through the back roads of Texas and encounter a chainsaw-wielding maniac. What happens next is beyond anyone's darkest imagination and will leave you speechless and horrified.

From filmmaker Michael Bay ('Pearl Harbor', 'Bad Boys II') and starring Jessica Biel ("7th Heaven") comes this year's most hardcore and terrifying film.

You've been warned.

My Thoughts:
First remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it had the same flaws the prequel I've reviewed just before had and I won't repeat them. But it had more problem so I can complaint a little

None of the protagonists are likeable, they are all a bunch of useless screamers from the first one to the last who can't take any logical decision. Some facts doesn't make any sense at all, by exemple why the slaughterhouse who is closed since 4 years always had pigs and hanged meats inside (I think the familly would have eat that a long time ago). But to be honest there is only two reasons to watch that film, R. Lee Ermey and the Jessica Biel's white shirt (common I'm a guy...).

Really nothing special here, I've seen worst but this is very average.

What About Bob?, a review by Tom

Title: What About Bob?
Year: 1991
Director: Frank Oz
Rating: FSK-6
Length: 95 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85
Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, German: Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitles: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish

Stars:
Bill Murray
Richard Dreyfuss

Charlie Korsmo
Kathryn Erbe

Plot:
Comic superstar Bill Murray ('Ghostbusters', 'Caddyshack') teams up with Academy Award® winner Richard Dreyfuss ('The Goodbye Girl', 'Best Actor', '1977') in the year's most outrageous comedy. Murray plays Bob Wiley, a neurotic but lovable New Yorker who shows up at the vacation home of a pompous doctor named Leo Marvin (Dreyfuss). Bob soon becomes the houseguest who wouldn't leave, endearing himself to the other family members ...and in the end, driving the stressed-out Dr. Marvin absolutely crazy. Moviegoers loved this delightfully zany tale, and you'll find WHAT ABOUT BOB? full of lunacy, laughter and nonstop entertainment.

Awards:
MTV Movie Awards1992NominatedBest Comedic PerformanceBill Murray

Extras:
Scene Access

My Thoughts:
Bill Murray is great as Bob. I feel that Monk has been greatly influenced by this movie. Bob reminds a little of Monk (though Monk is much more reserved). And Monk's doctor reminds me of Richard Dreyfuss's character here. Although Dr. Kroger (Monk's psychiatrist) never has been driven to madness like Leo was here (yet).

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

16. Lucky Leon (3/12/95)
Jimmy is arrested for murder, Superman is accused of stealing nuclear warheads and as assistant DA discovers Clark Kent's secret identity. But here's the big news: Lois and Clark share a first date...and a first kiss!

My Thoughts:
This is a real good episode that a lot happens on. It was pretty fun watching Lois and Clark deal with their first date. Before watching this episode again I had forgotten not only how Assistant DA Drake found out that Clark being Superman... but also that this episode ends in those 3 oh so famous words... To Be Continued...

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

17. Resurrection (3/19/95)
Searching for Assistant DA Mayson Drake's killer, Lois and Clark encounter a dark plot involving faked deaths, escape convicts and a hunky government, agent who finds Lois captivating.

My Thoughts:
This is a good conclusion to the last episode.I enjoyed it quite a bit. Unfortunately this is also the episode that introduces the character of Dan Scardino... the government agent mentioned above. That is one character I just never liked.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

18. Tempus Fugitive (3/26/95)
H.G. Wells drops in - via his time machine - and gives Lois and Clark a glimpse of a surprising world to come. Then they race to the past to save baby Superman from a deadly fugitive from the future.

My Thoughts:
This is a great episode. Talk about fun! I enjoyed every minute of it... but I especially enjoyed Tempus' who routine of telling Lois how galatically stupid she is... and that Clark is Superman.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

19. Target: Jimmy Olsen! (4/2/95)
The most dangerous man in Metropolis is Jimmy Olsen? Injected with a synthetic virus when he was an infant, Jimmy comes under the power of evildoers who transform him into a mind-controlled assassin.

My Thoughts:
Not bad... it is an enjoyable episode. I really liked the character of Sarah who was also injected with the synthetic virus. I thought she made a good companion for Jimmy. Unfortunately if I remember correctly we don't see her again. This is the second episode with Scardino... and nope... still don't like that guy.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
