Creepshow, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Creepshow
Movie Count: 59
TV Ep Count: 17
Time Started: 4:45am
Plot:
Two macabre masters - writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero - conjure up five shocking yarns, each a virtuoso exercise in ghouls-and-gags style of classic 50's horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father's Day cake. A meteor's ooze makes everything... grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army. Add the spirited performances of a fine cast (Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, E.G. Marshal and King himself) and the ghoulish makeup wizardry of Tom Savini. Let the 'Creepshow' begin!

My Thoughts:
This is one of my favorite anthology movies. I think my favorite segment was the one where "A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror."... this was the one where Leslie Neilson buried the couple to their necks in the sand on the beach... waiting for the high tide to come.  That one then followed closely by the "crated creature" Fluffy.  But of course I enjoyed all the segments.

My Thoughts:
I bought this film blind (never even heard of it before) soley because it stars Kevin James... who I became a fan of every since first seeing him on King of Queens. This is listed as a comedy film... and while there is comedy here... it really isn't that much. I found it more of a serious story about 2 friends. Sure there was some funny moments that put a bit of a smirk of enjoyment on my face... but there was no laugh out loud moments here. I actually thought Queen Latifa's character was the funniest in the entire movie. That being said... I did like the film. It was defintely worth the time put in to watch it.

My Rating:

The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Joey

What's the show about?
Joey Tribbiani is an actor living in L.A. who can't get a decent acting job. He's living with his nephew who is a college student and slightly smarter than Joey - and his sister drops in all the time.

What happened before?
Joey has been living on New York for the last ten years and he had a couple of friends there but life moves on and so did he.

"Pilot"
Joey has just arrived in L.A. but after a few days of shooting his new show it gets cancelled. Now Joey has no job and he's sitting in an empty apartment. And his nephew asks him whether he can move in, too, since he doesn't want to live in his mother's home anymore. Joey's sister Gina is not amused.

My Opinion
I watched a couple of episodes but never the whole season. It simply wasn't the same. Seeing Matt LeBlanc as Joey again was just a sad reminder that Friends is actually over and that there won't be new episodes with the six of them. So I don't think I am going to see this two-season series entirely.
