This is a wonderfully entertaining film. It's light and breezy, romantic and filled with colorful characters and some darn good performances. John Wayne is atypically just a normal guy here, not a cowboy or a soldier, and he does a great job with it. Given his reputation, the subtlety he brings to his performance here can be surprising. Maureen O'Hara is as lovely as ever, and the cinematography is stunning.

I'd like to recommend this for anyone, but it isn't very PC, especially viewed with a modern gaze. Parts of this film would be very different if made today. You'd never see the casual treatment of wife-beating, for instance. But don't mistake that casual treatment by the locals for the film endorsing it. Both times Sean is offered a stick to beat his wife with he discards it. As he's the moral center of the film, his refusal tells us really doesn't condone marital violence. Sean offers violence (the dragging, the fight) only to appease local tradition ("It's your custom, not mine"). Yet you wouldn't see it made this way today. The subtlety of that statement (simply discarding the stick) would be to easily lost.

A great film, and my personal favorite of Wayne's oeuvre.

Hmmm... What did I think of this one? I enjoyed it enough that it kept my interest through-out the entire movie. But at the same time... it is far from a great movie. It is a pretty good story. But some of the acting could have been better. Over-all I would say it is worth a watch... not so sure about it being worth a purchase. I would say only if you can get it very cheap. As for the rating... I would say it is barely a 3 rating out of 5.

"Love Hurts"

Returning to San Francisco, Leo (Brian Krause) asks the Halliwell sisters to protect an innocent woman who is being stalked by a demonic auditor. Piper finally learns that her beau, Leo, is a White Lighter. Because of this, Piper must say goodbye to her love.

My Thoughts:
This was a really good episode. Now all the sisters know about Leo as they fight to save his life. The sisters use a spell to switch powers so Piper can try to save Leo with his own healing power. As Phoebe said... it was a supernatural "Freaky Friday".

Fighting for their lives, the Charmed Ones combat time sorcerer Tempus Fugit (guest star David Carradine) who has created a terrifying time loop. It is a race against the clock as the sisters try to find a way out of their terrifying recurring fates.

My Thoughts:
A great way to end the season. A ""Groundhog Day" type of episode as Tempus aides a demon to try to get rid of The Charmed Ones. Even though it was pretty obvious to have Phoebe see through the time loop with her psychic powers... but how else could they really of done it? It was the most obvious way... but at the same time the best way in my opinion.
