The Saint, a review by DJ DoenaVal Kilmer ... Simon Templar Elisabeth Shue ... Dr. Emma Russell Rade Serbedzija ... Ivan Tretiak Valeri Nikolayev ... Ilya Tretiak Henry Goodman ... Dr. Lev Botvin Synopsis: He is a man who has no name. And if he has then it's one of a catholic saint, like Thomas Moore. But he is a thief and a good one at that. If it can be stolen and someone pays for it, he can steal it. But his life changes drastically when he steals the chemical formula to create cold fusion - a clean and basically unexhaustable power source. Now he's not also on the run from Scotland Yard but also a russian oil magnat who wants to putsch against the russian president and he's fallen in love with the scientist who discovered the formula. My Opinion: This is also a movie one can't take too seriously. Even the whole cold fusion affair aside it has quite a number of ridiculous moments. For example: He's already at the 20th or so floor when he climbs out of a window, and uses his extendable aluminium ladder to climb vertically upwards - with no hold whatsoever. But since I've never watched the original Simon Templar series I still enjoyed this movie because I knew what to expect. Stars: Caroline Williams as Amy Marlowe Nicole Kang as Sienna William Youmans as Robert Adam Weppler as Aaron Nicholas Tucci as Ernie Plot: Caroline williams returns to the DJ booth for the first time since her star-making turn in 1986's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 as vetern punk rock disc jockey Amy Marlowe, bitten by a rabid bat on the eve of her final broadcast. When a raging storm traps Amy, her mysterious replacement (Nicole Kang, Batwoman) and the uneasy staffinside their small-town radio station, reality begins to fracture as they begin to move further and further into the graveyard shift. Is it rabies? Or something far more sinister? Extras:
My Thoughts: No more then Average low budget vampire film. Does have a couple recognizable names going for it. And it had a few good moments but nothing I haven't seen before. Other things were more on the rediculous side. This isn't one I would recommend to others.Side note to Tom: Thanks for finding/getting me my review window back! LOST BOYS While cleaning the basement of an old inn, Melinda finds the lost spirits of three boys that died in an orphanage fire 50 years ago. She must help the boys pass on before the inn is destroyed and they become eternally earth-bound spirits. My Thoughts: This remains to be one of my favorite episode. I really liked the story behind it... even if it was obvious who the old man that bought the old inn was. 6. HOMECOMING Melinda assists an upset teenage ghost and learns something that will affect the lives of everyone the boy left behind. My Thoughts: Another good episode... deals with a teen trying to find his birth mother but dies before he gets the chance. 7. HOPE AND MERCY A woman who died during pregnancy can't cross over until her husband stops blaming himself. Plus, Andrea meets a con artist who discovers a surprise about her past. My Thoughts: A good... but somewhat standard episode. But I did enjoy the set up for the next episode at the end of this one. 8. ON THE WINGS OF A DOVE Five years after his father's death, Jim begins acting strangely. Melinda notices and believes the problem is caused by his tortured spirit. Painful memories are brought back when she is surprised by a visit from a friend (Estella Warren). My Thoughts: This episode was enjoyable... was good to see Melinda's husband more in the thick of things. Now he gets an idea of what Melinda has to endure.
