The Eye, a review by HalTitle: The Eye: 2-Disc Special Edition Year: 2008 Director: David Moreau, Xavier Palud Rating: PG-13 Length: 97 Min. Video: Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: DTS-HD High Resolution: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Other: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: Jessica Alba Alessandro Nivola Parker Posey Rade Serbedzija Fernanda Romero Plot: Sydney Wells is blind and has been so since a childhood tragedy. After undergoing surgery to restore her sight she learns to see again. But soon after, unexplainable shadowy and frightening images start to haunt her. Not knowing if they are an aftermath of surgery, her mind adjusting to sight, her imagination, or something horrifyingly real, Sydney is soon convinced that her anonymous eye donor has somehow opened the door to a terrifying world only she can now see. Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Digital Copy TheaterVision: English descriptive audio. My Thoughts: More of a thriller than a horror movie, it was still entertaining with a few "scary" moments. The plot was somewhat predictable, even including the final resolution, but the journey kept it interesting and of course Jessica is certainly easy on the eyes.Rating: (From Hal's 2010 Horror Marathon Reviews on October 2nd, 2010) Home Alone, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Home Alone Year: 1990 Director: Chris Columbus Rating: PG Length: 103 Min. Video: Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, French: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English Stars: Macaulay Culkin Joe Pesci Daniel Stern John Heard Roberts Blossom Catherine O'Hara Plot:Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers My Thoughts: This is one that I haven't seen in many years! I can't believe this movie is already 20 years old! I used to see this one on cable every year at Christmas time a good 10 years ago... but for some reason I haven't seen it on much at all anymore. I am glad I got the opportunity to see it again... there is many good laughs in it... but I must admit that it wasn't quite as funny as I remembered it being. Though I do see myself watching it again next year. I even feel lucky to find part 2 playing on cable later this week... so set my recorder for it. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2DVD's 25 Days of Christmas Marathon: 2010 on December 5th, 2010) The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaM*A*S*H What's the show about? The 4077th M*A*S*H is a field hospital in the Korean War. The inhabitants of that hospital are a wild bunch of crazy people but they are also the best doctors and nurses on the front. What happened before? The series is based upon the novel "MASH: A Novel About Three Army Doctors" and the 1970 movie "MASH" but there's no necessity to have read / seen this before. "Mobile Army Surgical Hospital" "Hawkeye" and "Trapper" have the plan to send the local boy Ho-Jon to medical school in the United States. For this they have to raise $1,000 by doing a lottery... My Opinion M*A*S*H is a great show, always good balanced between fun and seriousness. (From The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon on January 5th, 2008) |
