I Bury the Living, a review by addicted2dvd

I Bury the Living
A newly appointed cemetery chairman discovers that, merely by inserting a black pin into a wall-sized map of the cemetery, he can cause the deaths of that plot's owner.

My Thoughts:
This is a very good classic. One that I have enjoyed a few times since getting it in the Total Movie Classic Boxset. Of course being public domain release in a boxset they gave away with a magazine subscription the quality could be much better... but it is definitely watchable. This is one I would like to find a release with better transfer and some extras.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

A teenage girl, a school teacher and a wino become an unlikely trio of vampire hunters as they struggle to destroy a monstrous danger more unspeakable than death in this truly terrifying tale of horror and suspense.

My Thoughts:
This one is a fairly low budget movie... that if I am not mistaken was direct to video. At least here in the US. This is not what I would call a great movie.... but I have certainly seen worse. Even though I do see obvious downfalls of this movie... it is definitely on the cheesy side... but for some reason I find myself enjoying this movie. There is a couple familiar names in this movie. First there is Karen Black who has done her fair share of horror in her career. Then there is Peter DeLuise... who was on the TV Series 21 Jump Street. Like most vampire movies... this one plays around with the legend a little. The main being how some of the vampires sleep the day away under water.... with their lungs on the outside of their bodies. While others sleep in a cocoon.

Plot:
Here to cheer are all 22 hilarious Season One episodes (plus bonus features) of the groundbreaking series that won 18 Emmy Awards - including two for Best Comedy Series - during it's outstanding 10-season run. Candice Bergen portrays Murphy Brown, star reporter for Washington DC-based news magazine 'FYI', delivering a performance so funny and dynamic that she earned five of those Emmys as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (including one for this debut season). The colorful 'FYI' crew backs her up, giving everything from romance to friendship, national politics to office politics a zingy comeuppance.

Murphy Brown
1.01 Respect
Writer: Diane English (Writer)
Director: Barnet Kellman
Cast: Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown), Pat Corley (Phil), Faith Ford (Corky Sherwood), Charles Kimbrough (Jim Dial), Robert Pastorelli (Eldin Bernecky), Joe Regalbuto (Frank Fontana), Grant Shaud (Miles Silverberg), Tony Goldwyn (Bobby Powell), Mary Cadorette (Sherry), Kathleen Freeman (Mrs. Caldwell), Charley Lang (Robert), Mark Lonow (Jerry Weiss), John Achorn (Stage Manager)

I only know the first season from this series. None of the others were ever released on DVD. I enjoyed this first episode. Though it is a little dated.
I believe the bar Murphy Brown went to is a redressed Cheers set.
