Harry Brown, a review by JonHarry Brown 3 out of 5 [understament]Harry, is not best pleased[/understatement]. The actor who played Jack Carter? A character who is an ex-Marine with a grudge? Going all Gran TorinoGran TorinoGet Carter in the lead is an ace and the rest of the cast are excellent and also avoid stereotypes, especially Joe Cornish in a small role; I know him from soap-land and he is also great in This Is England (From "Fancy the pictures, me Duck?": The British Film Marathon on February 6th, 2011) Itty Bitty Titty Committee, a review by TomTitle: Itty Bitty Titty Committee Year: 2007 Director: Jamie Babbit Rating: NR Length: 87 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1 Stars: Melonie Diaz Nicole Vicius Carly Pope Melanie Mayron Leslie Grossman Plot: This latest fabulous movie from Jamie Babbit (But I'm a Cheerleader) is a dynamic, romantic, funny and politically astute movie with a smart script, rockin' soundtrack and terrific ensemble cast that includes sexy young Melonie Diaz as the new grrrl on the block who falls in with a great gang of feisty feminists and then falls in love with leader of the pack, Nicole Vicius. Unfortunately, Nicole has a girlfriend - Melanie Mayron - and, as they say, drama ensues. With Carly Pope, Daniela Sea, Guinevere Turner, Deak Evgenikos, Jenny Shimizu and Lauren Mollica. Extras: Scene Access Featurettes Trailers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: From the director "But I'm a Cheerleader". While that one has its charm, as its premise cannot be taken seriously, and therefore is a fun comedy to watch, this movie takes itself to seriously. Also during most of the movie, many of the main characters are unlikeable and their actions are pure vandalism. The movie takes up a little towards the end, when tension in the group breaks them up for awhile and also the finale is a little fun. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on January 10th, 2009) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdThe Comeback For fallen star Valerie Cherish - former B-list sitcom actress desperate to revive her career - no proce is too high to pay for clinging to the television spotlight. Valerie agrees to be the subject of an intrusive reality television show, with cameras following her every move as she lands the part of "Aunt Sassy" in a tedious new sitcom, Room and Bored. Lisa Kudrow stars in this uncomfortably funny and insightfully biting comedy series from writer Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City). In the spirit of reality television, there seems to be no end to the humiliating circumstances Valerie Cherish will endure, all in the name of fame. The Comeback (Pilot) Faded television starlet Valerie Cherish attempts to land a role in a new sitcom.'Room and Bored', by taking part in a reality show dhronicaling her somewhat mortifying "comeeback." My Thoughts: I watched this when it originally aired on HBO. I remember that I enjoyed it somewhat... but that I wasn't overly impressed with it. But when I found the DVD set on sale for less then $15 I decided to add it to my collection. That was almost 2 years ago now... and until now I haven't watched the DVDs at all. Watching the pilot episode again today I felt pretty much the same way I remember the first time around. It is one of those shows... while decent... I wasn't surprised when it was canceled.
