Shutter, a review by JimmyTitle : Shutter (2004) Overview Late one night on a country road. Tun and Jane accidentally run down a mysterious pedestrian. Fleeing the scene, they return to their lives in Bangkok, but soon discover that life has returned to anything but normal. Nightmares haunt Jane's dreams while Tun, a photographer, notice odd spectral figures begin to appear in his work. Returning to investigate the site of the accident, they can find neither rumour nor report of the victim. But when one by one, Tun's closest friends begin to die, he and Jane know they must unravel this mystery before it unravels their very lives. My Impression Those Asians are certainly the master to create fear without a lot of blood or music trick. This one is another one who deal with the spirit world (sometimes it get annoying since 90% of their horror films are based on that), but this one deal with the remorse and sorrow emotions also. Of course if you have seen a lot of these Asian films you will get a good idea from the start where this film will go, but it countains a good part of surprise. Be sure that this film will make you jump by moment and that some moments are really scary (by exemple the ladder scene near the end or the moving spirit in the series of polaroid). By moment the films is confusing but all will become clearer while the story progress. This isn't an american production, so don't expect a feel good ending. Rating : (From Jimmy's 2009 Horror Marathon on October 9th, 2009) Wonder Woman, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Wonder Woman: Two-Disc Special Edition Year: 2008 Director: Lauren Montgomery Rating: PG-13 Length: 74 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French Stars: Keri Russell Nathan Fillion Alfred Molina Rosario Dawson Marg Helgenberger Oliver Platt Plot:Extras: Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Featurettes Digital Copy 2 Bonus Cartoons My Thoughts: enjoyed this movie just as much this time as I did the first time I watched it a few months ago. This movie is definitely heavier on the violence as well as some suggestive dialog. So it is not one for the kiddies... but I don't think it is to bad... I would say the teens on up would enjoy this movie. One thing I did find a little on the strange side is that you don't hear the name Wonder Woman till the end of the movie. But that is such a minor thing it doesn't matter in the least. The one problem I did have with this movie... and is true about all the animated super hero movies I have seen... is the short run time. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Animated Superhero Movies on March 18th, 2011) Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman: The Complete First Season, a review by addicted2dvd

My Thoughts: Over the last couple days I ended up watching the entire first season set. Really enjoyed watching this set again. I actually forgot how much I enjoyed this series. I really like the entire cast on this show. Well except for Tracy Scoggins... but not because of her... I just never liked the character she played. Apparently I wasn't alone in these feelings as her character disappeared after the first season. Now I am trying to decide if I want to continue and watch season two... or move on to a different show.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on August 2nd, 2011) |
