Stir of Echoes 2: The Homecoming, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Stir of Echoes 2: The Homecoming: Widescreen Year: 2007 Director: Ernie Barbarash Rating: R Length: 89 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: Rob Lowe Marnie McPhail Ben Lewis Tatiana Maslany Shawn Roberts Vik Sahay Plot: After returning home from a tour of duty in Iraq, Ted Cogan is haunted by horrifying visions. He soon realizes that he may have brought back more than just a medal of honor. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I went into this one with a bit of mixed feelings. First I really enjoyed the first one... so was hopeful that I would like this one as well. Then I noticed this one has Rob Lowe in it. That is the first sign that I may not think too much for this one. Well I figured I will go ahead and give it a go... and if worse comes... at least I got it cheap. I got this one at the local Big Lots for only $3. I think going into this movie expecting the worse helped. As while it is far from a great ghost story... I found myself enjoying it for what it is. Sure it is a step back from the original. But it is still a decent story with some cool scenes and just a bit of gore added in for good measures. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on January 1st, 2011) The Invisible Man, a review by HalTitle: The Invisible Man: Classic Monster Collection Year: 1933 Director: James Whale Rating: NR Length: 71 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French Stars: Claude Rains Gloria Stuart William Harrigan Henry Travers Una O'Connor Plot:Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Featurettes Gallery Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: An interesting story with some pretty incredible special effects given that this movie was made in 1933. The acting wasn't really great, but I enjoyed seeing Gloria Stuart (elderly Rose in Titanic) as a young woman and I think Henry Travers is just a marvelous character actor. A fun time.Rating: (From Hal's 2010 Horror Marathon Reviews on October 17th, 2010) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Mr. Bean (animated) 1.01 Episode 1 This animated series had some funny moments (I only own the first six episodes though). And they captured Rowan Atkinson quite well. But I didn't enjoy the first episode much. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on June 10th, 2012) |
