Creature from the Black Lagoon, a review by HalTitle: Creature from the Black Lagoon: Classic Monster Collection Year: 1954 Director: Jack Arnold Rating: NR Length: 79 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: English, French Stars: Richard Carlson Julie Adams Richard Denning Antonio Moreno Nestor Paiva Plot:Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Featurettes Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Along the lines of King Kong, the Creature falls in love with the lovely maiden and kidnaps her to have her all to himself. Not a very original plot. About the only things that make this film worthwhile are the creature's design and the underwater photography which was a fairly young art at the time. A couple of "tense" moments during the fight scenes were about as scary as it got.Rating: (From Hal's 2010 Horror Marathon Reviews on October 18th, 2010) The Invisible Woman, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Virginia Bruce John Barrymore John Howard Charles Ruggles Oskar Homolka Edward Brophy Plot:Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: This one is much more comedy then the previous two. I still enjoyed it... but not quite as much as the other two. It is still definitely worth seeing... and having in your collection though. This one has Shemp Howard (Three Stooges) in it playing a gangster. He was alright in it... but most the comedy came from the butler. I am not familiar with the actress playing the Invisible Woman... Going by DVD Profiler I don't have anything else with her in it. I did enjoy her in this one though. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 Count: Movie Count: 66 TV Ep. Count: 32 Other Count: 8 I Made It! (10/15) (From Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2010 on October 18th, 2010) Weekend Movie Marathon: TV Show Reunion Movies, a review by addicted2dvdKnight Rider 2000 On the edge of loosing a local government contract, the Foundation and Devon recall Michael from retirement to oversee the completion of the Knight 4000. In a town where handguns are outlawed, crime has become rampant, and the current system of freezing convicts is not working. Michael returns on one condition, to reunited with his friend KITT. Sadly, KITT has been dismantled by KITT has been dismantled and the parts sold by Russell Maddock the new head of the Foundation. Devon manages to recover all but one chip which has been implanted in the head of Shawn McCormick, a female cop whose brain was destroyed by a bullet. He and Shawn, who has a chip on her shoulder as well as in her head, are teamed to stop the current handgun situation where they discover the hidden secrets of the local police department and restore KITT into a new vehicle. My Thoughts: This is a reunion movie that was hoped to become a whole new series... which unfortunately never happened. This reunion movie was a bonus feature of the Knight Rider: Season 1 boxset (which is why I used screen cap instead of cover above). I have heard a lot of people say they did not like this movie at all... I did though. I thought it was a good movie... though I do miss seeing the original K.I.T.T. NOTE: Jimmy... this I just recycled the review from the last time I watched this... no need to put it in the list again. (From Weekend Movie Marathon: TV Show Reunion Movies on June 14th, 2008) |
