Come wedding day, Jane had better deliver. After all, she's already told everyone, including her meddlesome Aunt Ina (Linda Dano, TV's General Hospital) and now-famous high school nemesis Natasha Nutley (Holly Marie Combs, TV's Charmed) that she's in a serious relationship. Now Jane has two months to find a guy to fit the lie, and save face. If the series of miserable set-ups orchestrated by her well meaning best friends Eloise (Rachelle Lefevre, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) and Amanda (Sadie LeBlanc, Get Over Itright? Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers My Thoughts: I originally blind bought this movie for my love of 2 of the actresses in this movie. Holly Marie Combs (Charmed) and Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel). As it says above... this is a made for TV movie.... one that While it was a slow start... once I started to get into it turns out to be a movie I really enjoyed. It was fun seeing these 2 actresses in a non-supernatural role. Unfortunately this DVD has no movie related extras what so ever. My Thoughts: This is the second time I seen this film... once when it was first released and then now. Was a remake needed? No... but I am always willing to give any film a chance. I won't not watch a film just because it is a remake. Why would I? I could be missing an enjoyable movie... and even if it sucks... that don't take away from the original. In this case I think it is more of a re-imaging then it is a remake. They change enough of it to make it a different movie... but keep enough of the story the same to pay a good homage to the original. It is a fine line to walk... but I think this film did a good job at it. I have seen people complain about Jaden Smith.... and how he is in movies do to his famous father. But even if that is the reason he is there... that don't take away from his talent as I feel he did a fine job. This is the first thing I ever seen him in... but I did enjoy watching him. I thought Jackie Chan as Mr. Han was great. It did seem he played this one a little more seriously. But that is a good thing... the role called for it. If there was a character I didn't care for... I would have to say it was Dre's mother. She seemed a little out there to me personally. But I even liked her too... just my least favorite of the main characters. Over-all it is a very good, entertaining movie. Well worth the time put in to watch it. I am thrilled I finally got it in my collection. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: The Blu-ray Experience on July 27th, 2013) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Get Smart 1.01 Mr. Big [Pilot Episode] Writer: Mel Brooks (Writer), Buck Henry (Writer) Director: Howard Morris Cast: Don Adams (Maxwell Smart, "#86"), Barbara Feldon ("#99"), Michael Dunn (Mr. Big), Vito Scotti (Dante), Janine Gray (Zelinka), Kelton Garwood (Garth), Karen Norris (Mother), Edward Platt (Chief of Control) This is the first time that I ever saw an episode of this series. I only knew the Steve Carell movie before this. I bought the complete series (five seasons) for 30 pounds a few months ago. I enjoyed the pilot episode and I can see myself watching this series further. Too bad I would need a lot of time for it. The first season alone has 30 episodes.
