Three Stooges: Slippery Silks, a review by addicted2dvdThe Three Stooges: Slippery SilksMy Thoughts: No more then a decent short. Nothing really memorable here. My Rating: (From November Movie Marathon: Classic Comedy Greats on November 8th, 2017) Super Buddies, a review by Danae CassandraSuper Buddies Year of Release: 2013 Directed By: Robert Vince Starring: Trey Loney, John Ratzenberger, Jeremy Shinder, Cooper Roth, G. Hannelius, Ty Panitz, Tenzing Trainor Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi Overview: Watch the fur fly as a new breed of superhero is born in Disney's fun-filled epic adventure. An ordinary day at Fernfield Farms turns extraordinary when Budderball, Mudbud, B-Dawg, Buddha and Rosebud discover mysterious rings that grant them each a unique superpower. Before you can say, "Buddies, assemble," the pups unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. But can they succeed in kicking major tail without revealing their new secret identities? A must-own movie event packed with laughter, action and incredible new characters, Super Buddies proves when you use your wits and work together, you don't need superpowers to be a superhero! My Thoughts: I don't know that there's much of a review to write here. The plot is cheesy, the performances about average, the production values straight-to-DVD. Yet, I have all the Buddies movies, and I've enjoyed watching them all. So ask yourself these questions to know if this film is for you: Have you watched and enjoyed any of the other Buddies movies? Do you want to watch a kids movie about talking puppies with super powers? Do you want a movie that's family friendly, kid friendly, and super hero themed? If any of that gets a yes, you'll enjoy this film. Are you expecting something besides silly fun? Do you need deep seated angst in your super heroes? If those get a yes, you should skip this movie. Bechdel Test: Fail Overall: 2.5/5 (From Super Buddies on February 5th, 2014) Tom's Random Reviews, a review by TomMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid Year: 2005 Rating: NR Length: 325 Min. As dissension spreads throughout the ranks of Mithril, Sousuke faces his own internal struggle. Spread thin between schoolwork and war, the powers that be have decided to lighten his load... beginning with Kaname! Life and death hang in the balance as the clash between good and evil scale new heights. When the smoke clears, Sousuke's path will be the one that he forges for himself. Extras: Bonus Episode 000; Bonus OVA; Textless Songs Commentary Featurettes Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: The third installment in the Full Metal Panic series. And what an emotional roller coaster ride!Whereas the first series mixes a serious story-arc with light fun episodes, this series is mostly drama. Essentially a 180 to the previous (second) series FUMOFFU which was fun-only. Also the extras on this DVD set a quite fun. A 7-part featurette where the original author and the series director are going location scouting in Hong Kong. Although it gets rather boring with the video footage, the two provide fun commentary to it, which seldomly has anything to do with the video footage. Then we have audio commentaries for all episodes with the Japanese voice cast. Again, there are mostly talking about everything except about the episodes . But I enjoyed them nonetheless. The best extra feature of course is the bonus episode centering around the Tessa character. Originally it was released in Japan on DVD-only one year after The Second Raid series. This episode is comedy pure! Rating: Here is something rather fun: The audio of the Spider-Man 2 trailer put to video footage from Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid http://youtube.com/watch?v=mbFngmMz15o (From Tom's Random Reviews on June 7th, 2008) |
