The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!?, a review by JimmyMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies!!? (1964) Genre: Horror Director: Ray Dennis Steckler (The Thrill Killers) Rating: Unrated Length: 1h20 Video: Widescreen Audio: English Subtitles: No Subtitles Stars: Ray Dennis Steckler (The Thrill Killers) Carolyn Brandt (The Thrill Killers) Brett O'Hara (Wild Ones on Wheels) Atlas King (The Thrill Killers) Sharon Walsh Plot: A series of disappearances turns out to be linked to a maddened amusement arcade fortuneteller Madame Estrella who throws acid in the faces of the men who refuse her and then keeps them as disfigured monsters locked in the back room of her carnival booth. When teen lay-a-bout Jerry comes to have his fortune told he is placed in a hypnotic trance by the spinning disk and turned into a murderous zombie to serve the gypsy and her hunchbacked servant. My Thoughts: Because of the JBB track Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk99b9sJewU (From The little known movie review depot on June 29th, 2008) Dans l'Oeil du chat, a review by EricDans l'Oeil du chat Summary: Pauline went on a trip from which she never came back. Her fiance, Simon, will do anything to find her until he learns that she was found dead in some distant country but as he's emptying her apartment he begins finding troubling information. My thoughts: The story is very good, well written and the viewer doesn't really get what's happened to Pauline until the end of the movie. The visual side however is not very interesting in my opinion. Most (if not all) of the movie takes place in Pauline's apartment but it's not very appealing. It's much like a Peace & Love apartment of the 60's with strange colors and dark rooms. I think the story would have been better served by giving it a more "modern" flavor. My score: Overall it is still a good movie, I don't regret buying it. Would probably watch again. My Thoughts: Over the last few days I just watched the entire 8th (final) season of 24. There is just something about this series.... something that once you start a set.... you just can't stop until you watched the entire season. I must say... I enjoyed every second of this one! An excellent season to an outstanding series. This is a series I highly recommend. I am sorry to see that there is no more episodes to watch now. While I loved this season... this series on a whole... I would have liked to seen a better ending to the series for the main character. Granted I don't know how they could have done anything else with the story they told... but I just personally would had preferred a different outcome. After recently watching the last 2 seasons of this great series... I am tempted to start all over again from the very first season to the last. But I think I better save that for another time. If you never seen this series before... give it a chance... I sure you won't be sorry. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on July 16th, 2012) |
