Superman: Man of Tomorrow, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Darren Criss as Superman / Clark Kent (voice) Zachary Quinto as Lex Luthor (voice) Ike Amadi as Martian Manhunter (voice) Eugene Byrd as Ron Troupe (voice) David Chen as Med Student / Scientist (voice) Plot: A NEW SUPER HERO FOR A NEW AGE! Meet Clark Kent. Sent to earth as an infant from the dying planet of Krypton, he arrived with as many questions as the number of light-years he travelled. Now a young man, he makes his living in Metropolis as an intern at the Daily Planet - alongside reporter Lois Lane - while secretly wielding his alien powers of flight, super-strength and x-ray vision in the battle for good. Follow the fledgling hero as he engages in bloody battles with intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo before fighting for his life with the alien Parasite. The world will learn about Superman...but first, Superman must save the world! Extras:
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one, though it did seem a bit on the weird side to me as it didn't follow the usual Superman mythos. It wasn't bad persay... just different and kinda threw me off a bit. But it was enjoyable and I can see myself watching it again. Rating: (From Superman: Man of Tomorrow on July 23rd, 2023) Be With Me, a review by Danae CassandraBe With Me Year of Release: 2005 Directed By: Eric Khoo Starring: Theresa Chan, Chiew Sung Ching, Lawrence Yong, Seet Keng Yew, Ezann Lee, Samantha Tan Genre: Drama, Romance Overview: Be With MeMy Thoughts: This is an interesting but somewhat frustrating film. It had a lot of potential - but it would have been better if Khoo would have focused on either the stories of the two lonely people (the overweight security guard's story and the increasingly desperate break-up girl's story) OR the story of the blind/deaf woman and her interactions with her social worker and his father. Both could have been good films, but joined together they just don't fit well. I'm still rating it above average because the pieces were good, but it could have been a lot more. Bechdel Test: Pass Overall: 3/5 (From March Around the World 2016 on March 15th, 2016) Tom's Random Reviews, a review by Tom
Plot: Chuck is back and he's the Chuck you know: the hapless Nerd Herder hopelessly devoted to sexy super spy Sarah. And he's the Chuck you don't know: a master martial artist whose brain is locked and loaded with the new Intersect 2.0. How the two Chucks clash, bash and (sometimes) cooperate makes this 5-disc, 19-Episode Complete Season 3 total, action packed fun. More new stuff: A dashing rival (Brandon Routh) joins the team, someone from Chucks Buy More life discovers his secret and Chuck learns the spy biz can turn the nicest guy dark and dangerous. "For the last two years, we've protected Chuck from the world" the General notes. "But now we have to protect the world from Chuck" Extras:
My Thoughts: "Chuck" is a strange kind of series to me. I am not that driven to watch the next season. I usually wait for the price to drop, and even when I have bought it, it takes awhile before I come around watching it. But when I put the first disc in, I cannot stop watching it. I have watched now the complete third season in three days. For me the quality stayed a constant high. (click to show/hide) Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on January 8th, 2011) |
