Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, a review by dfmorgan
Year: 2001 Director: Hironobu Sakaguchi Cast: Ming-Na, Alec Baldwin, Ving Rhames Overview: The year is 2065. A meteor has crashed into Earth unleashing millions of alien creatures who roam the earth, decimating field and city alike, threatening to extinguish life itself. Prepare to be spellbound by an amazing woman, the brave individuals at her side and an astouning mission to save the Earth - all in cutting-edge CGI! Watched: 4th. Sep 2010 My Thoughts: Upon release this film set the benchmark for CGI animation and when I watched the DVD in late 2001 I was blown away. Now rewatching on Blu-ray Disc I find that it is still an enjoyable film with the Blu generally adding to the picture but some bits seem flat. The hair flicking around and other such effects still stood the test but the facial expressions and much of the background seemed to me to be flat in comparison. The dream sequences though appeared a tad sharper especially with the shot from beneath Dr. Aki standing in the puddle. My Rating: An enjoyable 3 Dave (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on September 5th, 2010) Spider-Man 3, a review by Tom

My Thoughts: When the movie was first released, I was really disappointed with it. Now a few years later I thought I'd give it another chance. It is better than I remembered it being. But it has its major flaws. Biggest of which is the handling of Venom and Peter Parker's affection with the symbiont. I have the feeling it is the director's way of saying "screw you" to the studio executives who insisted to include Venom against the director's wishes. In this movie also Gwen Stacy appears, played by Bryce Dallas Howard. I enjoyed Emma Stone's portayal of her in the new Spider-Man movie much more, though. Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on July 9th, 2012) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: Here to cheer are all 22 hilarious Season One episodes (plus bonus features) of the groundbreaking series that won 18 Emmy Awards - including two for Best Comedy Series - during it's outstanding 10-season run. Candice Bergen portrays Murphy Brown, star reporter for Washington DC-based news magazine 'FYI', delivering a performance so funny and dynamic that she earned five of those Emmys as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (including one for this debut season). The colorful 'FYI' crew backs her up, giving everything from romance to friendship, national politics to office politics a zingy comeuppance. Murphy Brown 1.01 Respect Writer: Diane English (Writer) Director: Barnet Kellman Cast: Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown), Pat Corley (Phil), Faith Ford (Corky Sherwood), Charles Kimbrough (Jim Dial), Robert Pastorelli (Eldin Bernecky), Joe Regalbuto (Frank Fontana), Grant Shaud (Miles Silverberg), Tony Goldwyn (Bobby Powell), Mary Cadorette (Sherry), Kathleen Freeman (Mrs. Caldwell), Charley Lang (Robert), Mark Lonow (Jerry Weiss), John Achorn (Stage Manager) I only know the first season from this series. None of the others were ever released on DVD. I enjoyed this first episode. Though it is a little dated. I believe the bar Murphy Brown went to is a redressed Cheers set.
