Bully, a review by JimmyMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: Bully (2001) Genre: Drama Director: Larry Clark Rating: Unrated Length: 1h53 Video: Widescreen Audio: English and Music Only Subtitles: English and Spanish Stars: Brad Renfro Nick Stahl Bijou Phillips Rachel Miner Leo Fitzpatrick Plot: Acclaimed director Larry Clark delivers his most powerful film since Kids. Marty (Brad Renfro) is a tormented surfer who, despite vicious abuse, relies on his longtime pal, Bobby (Nich Stahl), for rides to the beach and local South Florida bars. When Bobby turns his unwanted attention to Marty's new girlfriend Lisa (Rachel Miner) and her best friend Ally (Bijiou Phillips), Lisa decides Bobby's reign of terror must end. Assembling a crew of alienated suburban teens, she forms a deadly plan to get Bobby out of the way once and for all. As the conspiracy unfolds, friends turn into enemies and casual acquaintances become co-defendants to a murder that rocked America to its core. My Thoughts: This one is based on a true crime and it follows the testimony that the kids did at their trial. This explain why Bobby is painted as a real bad guy, seriously he is shown as a complete crazy menacing guy. But, the problem is that nothing is logic or believable in this story. Sorry, but the fact made no sense... Why you could continue to hang out with a friend who treat you bad, no link exist you don't depend on him in any way. But I ain't the only one who think that their story make no sense since they were all found guilty. The film itself is a good one. The acting is good, particullary Rachel Miner that I've never seen act before (the only reason why I was knowing her name is because she was maried to Macaulay Culkin) and Brad Renfro (a perfect exemple of a good child actor who had turned bad getting the chance to revive his career with an independant movie, the result 7 years later he is dead of a drug overdose... What a waste of talent). Another recommandation, but I have to warn you that this film countains a lot of nudity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8dLkbNq3fA Rating : (From F***** Up Teenagers Marathon on April 20th, 2009) Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, a review by TomTitle: Chori Chori Chupke Chupke Year: 2001 Director: Abbas-Mustan Rating: FSK-6 Length: 159 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35 Audio: Hindi: Dolby Digital 5.1 Subtitles: German Stars: Salman Khan Rani Mukherji Preity Zinta Prem Chopra Farida Jalal Plot: Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is a unique thriller for the whole family from Abbas-Mustan. Unique because there is no crime committed, no villian, no vamp, not even a single negative character in the film. It is the unusual and intriguing web of human relationships in the film that contributes to the edge-of-the seat suspense in the film. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is also the unique love story of our three main protagonists Raj (Salman), Priya (Rani Mukherjee) and Madhoo (Preity Zinta) but it is not eternal triangle. It is a love story of three people, which ends not in tragedy but in the totality of relationships. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is a love story coloured with the bloom of youth and melodious music, it is a complete family entertainment, that succeeds in arousing your curiousity and keeps you in suspense till the very last scene. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is a must-see film for everybody. Awards:

Some scenes were shamelessly stolen from Pretty Woman, but it really worked well here. I had expected, that this arrangement will be the beginning of the end of the couple's marriage (like it would have been in a Hollywood production), but nice to see a movie for a change, where their love for each other is strong througout and never is their relationship put in question.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on July 30th, 2009) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom

You'll be in fabulous company. Friends 1.01 The Pilot Writer: Marta Kauffman (Writer), David Crane (Writer) Director: James Burrows Cast: Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courteney Cox (Monica Geller), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt Le Blanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), John Allen Nelson (Paul), Clea Lewis (Franny), Cynthia Mann (The Waitress), Barry Hine (The Guy in the Coffee House) I never missed an episode when this series originally aired. At first I saw the first few seasons on German TV (pre-DVD and pre-broadband internet era made it hard to be able to see anything in the original language). Soon I discovered English transcripts of the latest episodes on the net and found out this way, that the German translation was horrible compared to the original. The pilot does a good job introducing the characters. But it is hardly one of the better episodes. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on June 20th, 2011) |
