Spawn, a review by Rich

Spawn

Five years after he was murdered by his own colleagues in a covert government operation, Al Simmons makes a pact with the devil to be resurrected so that he may see his wife Wanda once more. In return for the favor, the devil requires, in typically Faustian fashion, that Simmons lead Hell's Army for the destruction of humankind. Blessed in life with extraordinary killing skills, Simmons is even more deadly with the backing of his new master and the changling powers he has at his disposal. As he begins to discover and exercise his new strengths, he encounters two figures who direct him to use his powers in order to serve two different agendas. Cogliostro encourages Spawn to fight the devil and become a new champion for humankind, while Clown goads Spawn into continuing to serve his new master and lead the Armageddon.

Poor storyline, acting that left a lot to be desired, a poor mans X-men or batman.
As soon as the farting blue-faced dwarf and his cheesy one-liners entered the film, I lost the will to enjoy this, and it never pulled me back in.
The effects and soundtrack were very good, but there is very little else to hype about this movie.
One to miss.  :-\

Super Buddies, a review by Danae Cassandra

Super Buddies
Year of Release: 2013
Directed By: Robert Vince
Starring: Trey Loney, John Ratzenberger, Jeremy Shinder, Cooper Roth, G. Hannelius, Ty Panitz, Tenzing Trainor
Genre: Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi

Overview:
Watch the fur fly as a new breed of superhero is born in Disney's fun-filled epic adventure.

An ordinary day at Fernfield Farms turns extraordinary when Budderball, Mudbud, B-Dawg, Buddha and Rosebud discover mysterious rings that grant them each a unique superpower. Before you can say, "Buddies, assemble," the pups unleash their amazing abilities and race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet. But can they succeed in kicking major tail without revealing their new secret identities?

A must-own movie event packed with laughter, action and incredible new characters, Super Buddies proves when you use your wits and work together, you don't need superpowers to be a superhero!

My Thoughts:
I don't know that there's much of a review to write here.  The plot is cheesy, the performances about average, the production values straight-to-DVD.   Yet, I have all the Buddies movies, and I've enjoyed watching them all.  So ask yourself these questions to know if this film is for you:

Have you watched and enjoyed any of the other Buddies movies?   Do you want to watch a kids movie about talking puppies with super powers?  Do you want a movie that's family friendly, kid friendly, and super hero themed?  If any of that gets a yes, you'll enjoy this film.

Are you expecting something besides silly fun?  Do you need deep seated angst in your super heroes?  If those get a yes, you should skip this movie.

Bechdel Test: Fail

Overall: 2.5/5

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

13. SEX, LIES AND VIDEOTAPE
Photo finish? A cuddy shot of Superman with a married woman (Lois!) destroys the MAN OF STEEL's wholesome image.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. Definitely entertaining. It is basically a story that had to be told the moment that Lois and Clark got together.... an obvious storyline.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

14. MEET JOHN DOE
Dirty politics gets a new layer of slime when fugitive-from-the-future Tempus runs for president.

My Thoughts:
As always... the Tempus episodes are good. This is the first of a 2 part episode. Ends in a very good cliffhanger... especially the first time you see the episode.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

15. LOIS AND CLARKS
One Tempus, one H.G. Wells, two Clark Kents. add them up and you have time-warp adventure aplenty.

My Thoughts:
A very good conclusion to the last episode. And good to see the character of H.G. Wells in it to come help Lois and Clark. I thought they did a good job bringing the alternate universe's Clark over... but it did almost feel... I don't know... just not quite right on how Clark's parents took the news and accepted him. You would think there should have been plenty of tension there... and that just didn't come through in the episode. But it didn't take away from the story too much.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

16. AKA SUPERMAN
A pretty coed with the hots for Superman is sure she's discovered his secret identity - Jimmy Olsen!

My Thoughts:
This one is a pretty good episode... but somewhat standard. And a 97% match of Jimmy Olsen to Superman?... Come on... you got to be kidding me!

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
