Mars Attack, a review by DragonfireAWAKE, EARTHLINGS! It's later than you think. Don't miss this hilarious frenzy as Tim Burton (Batman, Beetlejuice) directs - and Mars Attacks! SEE! Stars that shine across the galaxy. Jack Nicholson (In a dual role), Glenn Close, Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito and a dozen more! SHRIEK! At mean, green invaders from the angry red planet! Armed with insta-fry ray guns, endowed with slimy, humongous brains - and enlivened with out-of-this-world but state-of-the-art special effects. GASP! As the U.S. legislature is overwhelmed. (Don't fear, we still have 2 out of 3 branches of the government working for us, and that ain't bad!) THRILL! As Earth flights back with an unexpected weapon. Take that, Martians! My Thoughts Yes this is a very silly movie, but I find it to be very entertaining. It is a bit odd, which seems to be typical of a Tim Burton movie, and very funny. I haven't seen many of the older movies dealing with martians, but some elements of this movie did seem to be the same - like the look of the flying saucers. The aliens themselves had a unique, creepy look and a very odd language. It was sort of like Independence Day in showing how many different characters reacted to and dealt with the invasion. There was a lot of over acting going on, but it fit in with the general absurdity of the movie. This is a movie to watch just for fun. It's goofy, kooky, and a bit twisted, which is probably why I like it. (From My November Alphabet Marathon on November 4th, 2008) Leprechaun 3, a review by JimmyMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: Leprechaun 3 (1995) Genre: Horror Director: Brian Trenchard-Smith Rating: 18+ Length: 1h34 Video: Full Frame Audio: English and Spanish Subtitles: English, French and Spanish Stars: Warwick Davis John Gatins Lee Armstrong John Demita Michael Callan Plot: My Thoughts: That was so bad... complete waste of time and a lot of that because it wasn't easy to finish it. Stupid, not scary, unfunny and full of non sense. It was nice to see Zoe Trilling, Merle Kennedy and Rod McCary from Night of the Demons 2 in small uncredited cameo and Lee Armstrong is pleasing to the eyes and wear a sexy magician assistant costume for all the film lengt, but nothing of that can change the fact that this film is a crappy DTV. Forget about it and don't count on me to watch Leprechaun 4: In Space, Leprechaun in the Hood and Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood because I won't Rating : (From Jimmy's - 2013 Ooctober Horror Marathon on October 19th, 2013) Smallville Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdSeason 7: Disc 4 13. HERO Look who's back. Clark is thrilled to catch up with Pete Ross, his old school pal. And he's dismayed to discover Pete has acquired a meteor power that could leave him vulnerable to exploiters like Lex. My Thoughts: This is a good episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was good to see Pete Ross back... been too long without him. I still hope to see him on the show again before it is all over. One thing I have to say about this episode. I don't think they could be more obvious about product placing then they are here. Talk about going overboard. My Rating: 14. TRAVELER My Thoughts: This is a good episode. We now have Supergirl/Kara back. It also makes you wonder if Lionel really is good now or not. My Rating: 15. VERITAS My Thoughts: This is a pretty good episode. Though not as good as the last few. For some reason this one just didn't really hold my interest as much. My Rating: 16. DESCENT Lex is driven to discover the secret of Veritas, even if it sets his life on a path of no redemption...even if it means the murder of someone near to him. Another killer also surfaces, a mysterious figure who may be determined to protect Clark's secret. My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one. It ios time to say goodbye to one of the main cast. Shame... I always liked the character whether he was playing a good guy, a bad guy or if you just weren't sure. My Rating: (From Smallville Marathon on January 13th, 2010) |
