Genshiken 2: Complete Collection (DVD Pacific)
Second season to a great anime series.

When I seen this Amazon Exclusive on sale I decided to make a change to my order this month. I decided to cancel 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo: The Complete Series... since it comes out at the end of the month I figure I can just order it next month. And in place of it I ordered...

The Unusuals: The Complete Series
Amber Tamblyn (TV's "Joan of Arcadia") and Jeremy Renner (THE HURT LOCKER) star as Detective Casey Shraeger and Detective Jason Walsh in this dark and gritty series that explores both the grounded drama and comedic insanity of the world of New York City police detectives. Together, the two must investigate the murder of a cop, unraveling the conflicting clues that they hope will lead to the killer and ultimately reveal the truth behind the dead cop's past.

Also stars Harold Perrineau (TV's "Lost") as Detective Banks and Adam Goldberg (TV's "Entourage") as Detective Delahoy.

This is a short-lived series I started watching because I liked Amber Tamblyn in Joan of Arcadia... and I got hooked on it from the very first episode. I was disappointed when it was canceled after only 10 episodes.

Dave, I think you will like Ponyo. I found that story-wise it was perhaps a bit 'younger' than some of Ghibli's other films, visually though I would not hesitate to call it their best. The amazing detail in the underwater and storm scenes was mindblowing, especially since the studio maintains it's traditional animation methods .

Thanks Sophie. I did very much. My usual short review is up here, if I have done the linky thing correctly.

The Daleks were invented in 1963 and haven't changed that much ever since. It was the second Doctor Who story ever.

The Daleks have a catch phrase and everyone who has ever fought against them recognizes it immediately.

I haven't been to Big Lots in a while and they have some great bargains. Lots of various films packaged in 3 for $3. I was surprised at the really great selection. So, for a buck each I picked up:

And, for $5 each I also bought the first seasons of:

The Greatest American Hero: The Complete First Season

21 Jump Street: The Complete First Season.

There were also hundreds of box sets containing various films from The History Channel, A&E, Turner Classics, etc. Most of these box sets had between 5 and 10 individual films. The prices were between $3 to $5 each. If I had brought more money I would have spent it all!
