Have you seen The Road?

No I missed it. What did you think?
Haven't seen it either. Thought I see if you did and if a purchase would be in order...

I haven't seen the film but I have read the book, fantastic read. Quite an eerie and confronting story but the pitch was just perfect, I couldn't put it down. Not sure how it will translate to the screen but I will check it out eventually.

I like him ;D
I've reviewed many of his films here and I own most of them. I don't own his german works since I don't speak german at all (I speak french, english, a little bit of spanish, taken one latin class at the university and tried ancient greek before I realized it was a waste of my time) and a couple of others I haven't bought yet (Sanctimony and Far Cry).

So yeah some people like me really like him ;D

I've only seen Alone in the Dark. Is it fair to judge Uwe's output based on that, or should I give something else a try to get a fair taste for his work?

No even me I don't like Alone in the Dark. Depending of the genre of films you like I recommand Heart of America, Blackwoods (my favorite of his films), Seed and Tunnel Rats.

"Tunnel Rats" is not half bad IMHO!

None of those were even on my radar until now. I'll have to look into them.

Checking my collection... the only experience I have ever had with Uwe Boll is House of the dead. From there it was just plain word of mouth to expect more of the same.

Bloodrayne is better than House of the Dead Pete. But I have never understand what is bad in House of the Dead it's a pretty good non stop action zombie films with a good performance from Jürgen Prochnow, Clint Howard, Will Sanderson and Ona Grauer. Except for the video game insert who look cheap and have no meaning it's one of the best zombie film since Day of the Dead.

I really didn't like the visuals. Especially all the video game inserts. It took away from the story immensely for me. Other then that I found the storyline to be between fair and good. Definitely nothing special in my opinion. I personally wouldn't rank it anywhere near Day of the Dead.
