I don't think that there IS an acceptable reason for buying them.

I dunno, I'd maybe buy them if I you know, wanted to set them on fire. Or perhaps wanted to give them as gifts to some people that I really dislike.

... :p Maybe because you should watch a film before you judge it so harshly?

Watched both of them. Becuase of those hours of torture I will never get back I feel I have at least gained the right to judge them 'harshly'. Same with the books of which I have read all four. At least now when someone asks me why I hate Twilight so much I can have an educated response as I unfortnatly know the material.

Jarhead (Amazon.de)
Blind buy. Was on a one-day special sale.
Jarhead is pretty good! It shows the war from a different perspective than we're used to seeing in movies and some of the scenes are really effective.
for example, when the two soilders thing they're finally going to get their first kill
Edited to add:  I agree that Twilight is awful, overracted and I cringe while watching it. Doesn't stop me owning both of them though :P

..Congratulations.

I like it when someone has not judged a book by its cover.

Jarhead is a film people keep telling me is great... people also keep tellin me Jake Gyllenhaal is hot in it... I think I prefered him in Donnie Darko (on a "hotness" level ;))

I have it on HD-DVD it came with my player :S I haven't watched it yet... I think ill watch it soon.

karmesinrot

I have to disagree nooooo way is he hotted in Donnie Darko, you absolutely cannot beat a shaved head on a guy for increasing hotness factor lol :P

You know that's actually one thing that drives me crazy as well. A media teacher of mine once told our class to never ever judge a film until we have seen it. He then went on to prove his point by watching Twilight which he hated, in the end though he said that at least he has seen it so he can properly make fun of it.

Mad Men (Season 3, 2009)
R1-US LionsGate (Mar 23, 2010)

Hopefully continues to be as great as the previous seasons.

Weeds (Season 4, 2008)
R1-US LionsGate (Jun 2, 2009)

I blame filmincarnate for that. I still think the show has run its course with 3 seasons, but after just rewatching them, I couldn't resist. Not a truly great show, but even in the IMHO somewhat weaker S3 still pretty entertaining.

The Lord of The Rings

I know  :bag: but I couldn't wait for the Extended Versions due later this year / next year / the year after / whenever Sir Peter Jackson and New Line can be bothered to do them  ;D plus these are the versions I saw in the cinema.
