After getting the "Ocean's Trilogy Box Set" today I had an idea for our June marathon.  How about watching movies with subject and/or title related to water.

The Long Good Friday is set around the London docklands and features a couple of key scenes on boats...

A quick look in my 'unwatched on dvd' list gave me the following, so I could go for this marathon time permitting...

water's edge
dark water (2002)
dark water (2005)
lady in the water
beyond the sea
cruel sea
voyage to the bottom of the sea
salton sea
sea of love
seabiscuit
ocean's 11 (1960)
river runs through it
battle of the river plate
crimson rivers
mystic river
old bones of the river
river of no return
mean creek
wolf creek
in enemy hands
submerged
atlantis lost empire
down periscope
home front
run silent run deep
we dive at dawn

I took a look and it was shocking... Even if I'd get inventive with what I use (like the aforementioned The Long Good Friday or The Colossus of Rhodos) I'd get to approx. 5-10 unwatched and even only 10-15 total. So, I'd have to stary out of that one... :(

Another marathon idea: We watch a specific number of movies, where the country of origin is neither "United States" nor your own country

I like the idea. Not sure how many here can fill a marathon with that though...

For any marathon I would personally only schedule the next one for July, so that I can use June to catch up with some of the special features of the discs I am watching this month and to watch some stuff randomly at my own leisure.

No problem for me to fill a list, but... I'm not sure if I will do the next month marathon. I begin to have a lot of unwatched dvd (already 25 and I don't count what it's in the mail or pre-order for may) and that doesn't include tv series dvd. I will probably try to watch them (I don't like to have too much unwatch stuff) in june unless the marathon give me a chance to place many of them in it.

Maybe we need to repeat the Unwatched Marathon (from January) every 6 months or so.  ;)

The October/Halloween marathons are over soon. There was already talk about starting another TV series/season marathon after that. This would be this weekend.

There were some ideas tossed around. As far as I remember, "Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "30 Rock" was mentioned. What else? And with what should we start?

Please make suggestions, which series you would like to watch and review next in a group marathon like we did with "The Big Bang Theory". Also mention how many episodes per week you'd like the pacing to be.
I suggest that we aim for Sunday as starting date.

I definetly am interested in Terminator (got it in blu). I'd also like this because it's noice and shoirt (and can be completed before my trip to Germany).

I also saw Veronica Mars mentioned once here; but not enough people may own this. I received all three seasons this week...

Have you turned Iroish, so you have?  :tease:

By the way, is that The Devils Backbone I see in your watched panel? What did you think of it?

I'd join in if it would be Sarah Connor or Veronica Mars and as long as it isn't more than one disc per week.

I liked it a lot! It's somewhat like Pan's Labyrinth, minus the fantasy stuff (just a ghost). It's not really "more frightening than The Others", as the back cover blurb says. It's the better movie so, telling a wonderful story. Only bad part is, actually, that it basically goes exactly where you'd expect it to go with few surprises on the way. But it's very nicely executed.
