I tell you... it seems like it never ends. Last night around 6:00 we decided we better take my mother to the hospital. She was having some bad flu-like symptoms. Unfortunately the ER was packed and took us almost 3 hours before we even got back into the examination room. They did some tests... several blood tests and a CT Scan of her stomach. Finding out that she had some sort of infection in her stomach but needed more tests to learn more. So they decided to admit her to get her better and do more tests. By the time my brother and I got home from the hospital it was 4:30 this morning. I just got off the phone with her to find out that this morning they have already did a couple more tests. A sonogram of her belly (what this tells that the CT Scan wouldn't I have no idea) and then something else where she had to get a needle right in here belly button (OUCH!)

All this is on top of us just recently finding out that she has the starts of Kidney Failure and may have to start doing dialysis. And they also want us to start taking her to a Lung specialist to keep an eye on her lung disease.

I tell you... all this stuff wears on your nerves and makes you non-stop worry. Right now I am really hoping that they get her better in time for her 76th birthday on Friday. Anyway... forgive me if I don't seem quite myself for a while... or fall behind on my marathons and such.

 

Stories like this put a lot of stuff back into perspective.

my daughter is so close to her grandmother! So she is upset as well. I told her that just remember... grandma is in the right place... where she needs to be to get better. And to lets just hope she makes it back in time for her birthday.

Pete I'm so sorry your mom has had another set back. I hope she rebounds as well as she has in the past. I will keep her and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I just called her to day goodnight to her. She is tired but sounds pretty good right now. She did complain a little... said every time she finally doses off they are back in there to check her vitals!

Woohoo! The Doctor just called... and mom is doing much better... she had a very bad stomach infection.... but they got it taken care of. And they say she can come home today! 

And just in time for her birthday tomorrow!
