Would that have anything to do with those classic horror movies you sent me?   :P

Nah...I just figured you're so addicted to them that you wouldn't be able to help yourself.

He actually did very well last year. I seem to remember one slip and we had a quick debate about whether it counted as horror! Can't remember what it was now, but we gave him the benefit of the doubt. And if you're impressed by how many he doesn't watch, just wait for when he starts. How many was it last October, Pete?  :training: :stars:

Pete, I'd love for you to watch a Val Lewton or two this year. They might not be what you expect, but are a natural development from the Universal style horror to more suspenseful thrillers. At least get The Bodysnatcher...  Val Lewton reviews

Last Year's Totals:
- 100 Horror Movies
- 45 Horror/Halloween TV Episodes
- 2 Other (horror/halloween shorts & documentaries)

And thanks for the suggestions... I will have to see what I can do about getting some in my collection! :)

Most seem to have faith you can do it, Pete...only 1 out of 10 said you couldn't make it.

And I admit it!  I was that one person!  Bwahahaha!!!  :hysterical:

I thought you might be lonely so a little Bwahahaha!!!  from me too!

Of course, I did vote that you would make it on that "other" site!

I already starting to stock-pile some new DVDs for my October marathon.

I just ordered...

Criss Angel: Mindfreak: Halloween Special
This will be the first time I ever seen Criss Angel... so I hope he is good... but I do like magicians so I am hopeful that I will enjoy this Halloween special.

Also... don't laugh at me... but I have to ask... as I do not want to mess up. While out on errands I picked up...

Hellboy
I never seen any of the Hellboy movies or comics. DVD Profiler lists this only as an action movie... but looking at the cover at some of those demon like creatures... is this in any way a horror movie? Should this be saved for October as well?
Pete

Kathy

I would not classify Hellboy as horror. I would put it with other comic book based movies - Spiderman, Superman etc. It isn't any more of a horror flick than these. Of course I did say you couldn't make it without horror...

Tom

I also wouldn't classify it as horror. You have my okay for watching it before October  ;D

Najemikon

What are you people on? And can I have some?  :tease: Sorry, Pete, Hellboy is fantasy horror. Not scary, because it is a comic book superhero story, but it features demons, supernatural beasties, reanimated corpses (bloody funny, that bit), etc.

Ask yourself, would you watch Buffy over your horror fasting period? Because that's comic book fantasy horror too. If you would, then go for it. And because it isn't proper scary horror, I wouldn't complain or consider it cheating.  ;)

But no-one is telling me Hellboy isn't horror. Not having it.  :-X

LOL... Thanks everyone.
I do save my Buffy and Angel and such for October... so I do guess it makes sense to include this with those. I will hold off on it... at least for now.

What's the matter, Pete...that care package I sent you didn't have enough stuff in it?  :tease:

addicted2dvd

What does this word ENOUGH mean? are you speaking English?  :P
Pete

Achim

In slightly different context I would always tell my father:

"I may have too many [CDs/DVDs], but never enough!"

Dragonfire

That reminds me of a line in a movie..I believe it was The Real McCoy.  Karen is asked about her jewelry when getting a safe deposit box.  she says she has a lot, but never enough..something long those lines.  That seems to apply to me and DVDs. :lol
