Both Jimmy and Eric make good points... no idea how old the people from google and such are... and if non-adult will get you up higher on the google searches it could be a good idea. But as they said... totally up to Karsten and I personally am happy either way.

While I haven't changed my mind I also agree with the good points mentioned above and that ultimately getting some fresh bloood in here should be the goal all the same... (meaning better ratings at Google are desirable).

Karsten a suggestion if you want to do that. Why not created a table in the database to keep the msg_id of those that are not to be showed.  We can easily create a php page that will only be accessible by registered forum members where they could maintain a list of posts to filter out.
I think I'll take up on that idea. Jimmy, could you create a list of links to your adult reviews?

Karsten I think I have the perfect and simplest solution.  We can use the posts "Message Icon".

In Admin->Smileys & Message Icons->Settings we can activate "Customized Message Icons".  In the smf_messages table there's a column called "Icon" and it contains the name of the .gif file associated with the Message Icon.  We only need to add a new icon which posters can use if they want a given review not to appear on the main page.  You will only need to modify your sql command to add "and icon <> 'whatever_is_the_name_of_the_gif_file".

I think that would be good because not only it would allow those who post reviews with mature content to easily filter what they think shouldn't be on the main page but it would also allow all posters to do it.  Sometimes after I watched a movie I didn't have much to say about it an posted just that.  I really hate it when I see one of my reviews on the main page that onlys "Good Movie, I have nothing to say about it".  We could all filter out the reviews that we don't want on the main page.

I can set it up if you want Kartsten, I have some free time today.  I took the liberty of finding an Icon.  If you like it could you please upload it to public_html/Themes/OceanBlue/images/post.

What will the new icon be? I humbly suggest:

OK, I uploaded the R-Icon. You'll find it at the bottom of the message icon list.

It would be great if every user could take a look at his own reviews and check if it might be "too hard" for the front page.

Thanks :)

I was occupied a lot, so I haven't visit since yesterday. I will finish to read the new post (you were all active for a monday) and I will place the new logo on my adult reviews after that. Nice to see that Eric had found a solution were I will have not a big job to do

It's done. I've only used the new logo on the xxx films and not on what I don't consider as adult film. But if the same way to identify an adult film were used than the ridiculous one on the dvdp database the chance to see one of my review on the front page would be really low

I've almost use it for my review of "Xanadu" that appear way too often for me on the front page :bag:

A late edit since I must pass a night without sleeping because I think that recently I wake up a litle bit too late. I know that I've not that much to do but getting up after 12 PM is lazy for me since I'm use to get up at 8 AM.

I've closed the poll, since I think that you have found a good solution for something that was bothering me a little bit. By the result it seems that my "fear" was unfounded, but I prefer this way since I've seen many time my review of Forced Entry on the front page and this one had the theatrical poster in it and it leaves very little to the imagination

Karsten, I don't know if it is the expected behavior:
I just got an empty review on the front page, which turned out to be one of Jimmy's R-Rated reviews.
This is probably the intended behavior. I just assumed that then automatically another review is chosen.

No it was not. I changed the script. Thx. :)
