I can't complain about Amazon.de delivery times. If I order before "noon today", it will be deliverd the day after tomorrow.

The last thing I ordered from Amazon.co.uk was also delivered from the german Amazon warehouse (in Bad Hersfeld).

The "free" 2 day shipping really spoils you. My wife ordered something from Sears yesterday. Expected delivery was the 16th.  :o

You get so used to the 2nd day delivery, it's almost as good as going to the store and buying it.

Not too sure about Crusoe - you'll have to let us know what it's like.
Kinda losing my interest in Numb3rs - the
plot thread with Colby was a little too contrived
I saw a short preview of Crusoe... now not so sure I will be watching that one.... the preview wasn't all that impressive in my opinion.

I'd say that the closest comparrison to this would be The IT Crowd, which I couldn't get on with.
I watched some bits of that on YouTube, liked it and therefore am THIS close to buy The IT Crowd... So are you saying I should rather get the Big Bang Theory, which apparently gets released in the US tomorrow?

I just watched the first season (or series in that case) of The IT Crowd and found it quite enjoyable and thus ordered the two-series pack for 11.50 GBP.

I had the feeling someone had watched my and then split me into several characters. For example Moss ordered the children's and adult's edition of Potter 1. What can I say, I have 8 of them:

And I can't stand bright light either - just like Richmond. And I can't ... ;D

Where did you order it? I would also be interested in it for this price.

Thanks! Since when is the shipping from Amazon.co.uk available at reasonable prices?
I didn't order there in the past because of the high shipping rates combined with their usually relative high prices. I ordered my RC2 UK discs mainly from play.com in the past. Not so much the past few years.

DJ Doena

It depends. You mustn't buy books there. About 5 GBP shipping. If you wish to buy an english book, then look it up on .com or .co.uk and change the domain to .de, most of the time it's cheaper that way.

e.g.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0688149553/ vs. http://www.amazon.de/dp/0688149553/

For DVDs its 1.49 GBP base price plus 0.39 GBP per DVD.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=11072981

It has been that way since I can remember.

Axelmusic.com and cdwow.com can be good for selling various regions with free shipping. Customs haven't tagged any coming into the UK from them at least.

Can't say how cdwow does these days since I stopped buying there about a year ago. Too much hassle.

Axelmusic.com is great but often a bit pricy. But they have been focussing on R1 for a really long time now and the shipping isn't free (except for the recent "helium" days, but they are over already). The customer service is really great, though, and the shipping usually quite fast and "customs-save".

There is a lot of hassle with CD-Wow, but they are better these days. I think it might be new management. The main problem is that their idea of special offers is a joke; £1 vouchers on selected DVDs that are so over-priced £1 doesn't dent it. "Happy Hour" sales in the middle of the day. Or the time I entered a silly quiz and got 1 £2 voucher and 8 £1 vouchers. They all had to be used within a week and on separate orders! I used the surprisingly generous £2, but needless to say didn't bother with the others.

I've always had a soft spot for Axelmusic. Nice website with some cool touches and as you say, their service has been exemplary.

My Own Worst Enemy is already cancelled. I don't watch tv serie on television because of the amount of publicity, I prefer to wait the dvd. From the promo that I've seen last summer this one look like an interesting serie and NBC isn't FOX (usually they don't cancel their serie that fast). For those who have watched it, did the serie was that bad? Maybe the concept was too complicated for the casual tv watcher?

addicted2dvd

Yeah... I know... I didn't even get to start watching it. I had the first couple episodes on the DVR when my cable box went up.... so I was going to wait myself.

I eventually reconsidered my previous decision and purchased the IT Crowd after all. The first series went along nicely and I already didn't regret. but it was the second series that had me repeatedly laughing to the point that I had to rewind the video a little because I had missed a bit of the action! I understand that the Series 1 & 2 pack is not a Complete Series box and there will be Series 3 (recently/currently broadcast...?); I am very much looking forward.

But did you also compare the two versions of the books to make sure if anything has been changed?

I was watching it.  I thought it was interesting and I was enjoying it.  It was a bit complicated, so that could be why it didn't do better.

I have been mostly watching Ghost Whisperer...but I'm not sure about the story they have going on now..and I missed it last week, so I have no clue what developed with that.  Though I'm still giving it some time...I was ready to give up at one point, but there was an....umm...interesting twist that could work.  But it hasn't yet.

I've really been enjoying Fringe.  That's really the only new show that I'm really, really liking.  My Own Worst Enemy was good, but I like Fringe more.  I just hope it stays on and doesn't get bounced all over the schedule.  Though it probably will...Bones is going to be moved yet again because of American Idol.  That irks me..
