For the past couple of years James and I have  had an Oscar chat during the telecast. There have been others there as well (not much of a chat otherwise). One year I think we had around 8 or so.

I'm curious if anyone here watches the telecast and if so would be interested in joining us this year. We could use the DVD Collectors Chat room (yes - there is one  ;) ). Previously, as the show progressed we discussed the current group of nominations and all gave our pick as to who would win. At the end of the night I always loose, but still have fun. Not enough awards for movies where things blow up for me to win

So, besides James, anyone interested?

DJ Doena

I would, if it wouldn't take place on a sunday evening local time. Which means for me (+6 hours) it's the night from sunday to monday.

Tom

I would be interested but the telecast will be in the middle of the night here and I have to work the next day  :(

Kathy

I'm interested but I'm having troubles with my computer; every once in a while the plug that goes into the back of the computer won't connect me to the internet. I think I might have to buy what I need to go wireless.

I see you've already signed me up...but yeah, I'll be there.

While I am not entirely sure when it is right now, the time difference here in Taiwan or in Germany will be a problem...

Usally I only watch a replay the next evening...

Sadly, I will be without internet for possibly a fortnight, so I have to book my place for next year  :'(

I'd be up for it, but as others have said it's the middle of the night for us(not to mention it'd mean me having to take the night off work to participate).

Where can I enter a Change Request to move the Oscars to a saturday evening?

Looks like it's you and me James, unless Kathy gets her internet working.

Guess I'll loose again this year  :surrender:

Touti

I never watched the Oscars, I'm not a big fan of that kind of things.  That doesn't mean I won't drop it once or twice during the course of the evening to see if you're all getting mad at each other  :hysterical:

Najemikon

I might pop in. I usually watch the broadcast if I can get out of work the next day! A lot depends on who is broadcasting it in the UK though. If it's Sky, I'm stuffed!

I don't know everyone's time zones, but here's a few for when the Oscars start:

TaiwanMon2/2509:00
GermanyMon2/2502:00
UKMon2/2501:00
Quebec/US Eastern Sun2/2420:00 / 8:00 pm

I usually don't watch the Oscar show, but I will probably drop in for the chat anyway. I may even watch the show, even if only to know what the heck you'll all be talking about!

But since this is on a Sunday, I may be late to the party. Usually, my sister comes over for diner every sunday.

Thanks for that! I was actually not sure if I had figured it out correctly... :-[ (well, I had)

Since I'll be going to Germany on the 21, it'll be 2:00am for me; with not having to work the next day. I cannot make sure now if the Oscars will be broadcast live, but if yes, maybe I'll be dropping in, maybe just not staying till the end...

If I can't make it, I wish you loads of fun in there!
