Hey, you remembered! Thought you would have done anything in your power to forget that movie ;)

No one is playing but this made me laugh so much...

"If you take sexual advantage of her, you're going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talk at the theater"

I've recently heard that, but can't remember, where.  :surrender:

Abraham Lincoln once said The trouble with quotes from the internet is that you never know if they're genuine.

Book to Mal in Firefly, episode Our Mrs Reynolds.

Recently re-watched the series for the 6th time. I remember someone saying in another thread "Mal is no Kirk". I fully agree, and I add a "Thank God".

Sanuye

Correct! Your turn Matthias :D

I'm watching Firefly for the first time, and I am really enjoying it  :tv:

 That was me! As a long term non-fan of Star Trek, I agree with your principle, but what I was saying in the context of the other thread, was that Captain Kirk is a cultural icon beyond Star Trek. Something I don't think could happen these days, certainly not by cancelling the best sci-fi show ever during its first season.

Okay, one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies:

"I had a dream that you grew a garden on a trampoline, and I was so happy that I invented peanut butter."

Hint:

It is from the second film by a director who is among the very few who ever received the Criterion treatment for their debut film not long after its theatrical release.

Your last clue intrigued me and I thought it was going to be something like Rushmore. I was wrong. :-[ So I Googled it. :bag: I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of it, or the director. It looks interesting though.

I have a feeling we'll be here some time yet!  :surrender:

Achim

I had thought of Rushmore too, as it is a second feature and was picked up by Criterion. Now I realize though, it was the debut of that director and not his second film that was released by Criterion... (Wes Anderson's debut was Bottle Rocket and not released through Criterion). The peanut butter quote doesn't quite fit Rushmore, too.

Najemikon

Where does peanut butter fit?

Actually, keep that to yourself...  :-X
