I'm a little biased against this one. I can't stand modern abstract art. I think it's such a complete load of bollocks, that when someone takes the mickey, it goes right over my head, because I think that's how it is anyway; artists playing a joke on their audience!

There was a recent installation in London. A room with four large ceiling lights that were being switched off and on. That was it.

To be fair, later in the series there is another joke I love with Brian set around an installation, but it's because it goes very wrong and he's congratulated for it. It demonstrates the stupidity of the art world.

Anyway, there was plenty of good stuff. The afore-mentioned zombie sequences were genius, plus Mike running round a tree. The editing is still the high point for me, like when Tim says he isn't going to the show, walks out of shot as Brian confirms to Daisy that there will be free booze and Tim is back in shot, dressed to go out and opening the door!

By the way, non-UK watchers, when Daisy becomes paranoid, it switches to the guy with the tape recorder? He isn't a generic spy. He had a notice in front of him that read "D.S.S." which is "Department of Social Security" who handle the benefits system. Daisy will be claiming unemployment benefit and the joke crops up several times. Our local councils epitomise the saying "getting blood out of a stone". There are a huge amount of fraudulent claims, but they treat everyone who claims benefits like a potential criminal. So Daisy's paranoia is typical of someone like her. Look out for the first episode of series 2 when she gets back from holiday...

Tim and Mike playing paintball
Mike "dying"  :hysterical:
Btw. Duane, Tim's nemesis, is played by the voice of Darth Maul.

Been so busy setting up my new computer, I almost forgot to watch this weeks Spaced episode :-[

8/10

Not really a lot of memorable quotes in this one, but still a fun episode...

Oops! Forgot to put the rating in for Battles: 4/5

I loved Mike's Terminator reference after they leave the paintball...

This was a great episode. Lots of movie references, witty dialog and then of course the heist film parody being the center piece of the film.

Well, I hope it's as good as you all make it sound because.... I just ordered it! From UK no less!

<sigh> all those Marathons might end up costing a pretty penny in the long run... ;)
Has it not arrived yet....?

Yes, it arrived, but what hasn't arrived yet is the 36 hour days I asked for. I'd love to join in, but I'm swamped with work. Even my November marathon has come to a complete halt. Nothing viewed since the 11th!

I also hate it when shipping is delayed...

Sorry to hear about you being all that busy, that DVD watching had to take a back seat. But vusy is good, too, as it keeps the paychecks coming ;)

I'm with you on this. 5/5 (or 10/10!)  The heist was superb, but my favourite line has to be Tim proclaiming the location of Jaffa Cakes during an in-depth discussion! Marvellous.

Maybe I'm a bit free and easy with the high marks, but I have a feeling the next one is the rave and that's deserving of much praise also...

I am early this time ;D

Best episode yet! 10/10

Extremely funny; although no outstanding references. Great fun to see the raver friend (didn't catch his name) to start dancing to those household noises, as they formed rave music in his mind...

Najemikon

"Didn't catch his name"? That's Tyres! Or Wilfred Bramble... ;) I haven't watched it yet for this marathon, but it was always one of my favourites.
