What'ya got: What'ya got?

Out of curiosity:

Besides showing off your own collection (and we wouldn't be collectors if there wasn't a little bit of pride involved) how do you look at the What'ya got thread?

What's of interest to you when you look at other people's purchases?

For me, it's a quick overview of titles that might have slipped past my radar or that simply remind me of what to put on my on to-be-aquired stack. So the title is good enough for me most of the time.

I post the price of my purchases not to show off the bargains that I made but rather show others where a bargain can be made.

This year I decided to also post the price per hour just for the heck of it. It doesn't have any deeper meaning (besides pointing out that TV series have a much better price to time ratio than films have ;))

So, what do you like to see there?

Me. I'm just being nosy seeing what other people have bought.

I'm a bit noisy too i guess on what other people buys. And i use the thread to get some great ideas to what to pick up next.
I've got quite a few movies from this thread.
So thanks guys! ;)

I'm not really nosy, but I like the thread to get ideas for movies or shows that I might have missed. For movies I like to know runtime.

I used to come here to see what others got just as much as to get inspiration what to get next or what I may have missed.

However, as I am trying to cut down purchases, I don't dare to come here as much... :bag:

Which of the 12 steps is this?

Well, seriously though, not doing too bad, actually. Last year I bought about 30% less than the previous year. And now that Taiwan also has Netflix, I am hoping to keep that trend going, or at least not go up higher again.

So, looking at the steps (I actually never looked at these before; realize now just how religious they are), I'd say I am between 4. and 5.

[spoiler]1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory, and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to other alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
