Abraham Lincoln once said The trouble with quotes from the internet is that you never know if they're genuine.

Those who know me and know I know them know who they are

Jimmy

I'm always here, but I post less often...

But I missed many old timers.... Sebastien, Jon, Rich, Rick and James (just to name a few) never post anymore :(

BTW Eric, do you have any idea of what happen to Sebastien?

Kathy

I talked to him a couple of days ago. He's fine. Really busy with work, girlfriend, etc. Nothing to worry about.

Jimmy

OK, he is in love so it's perfectly normal

Thanks Kathy

Still here, reading almost daily, posting sometimes too.

Planning to show your face here more often, Eric...?

I barely remember me sometimes. So for anyone else to remember me is a task in itself

That's the one (and possibly only) thing that I don't like about online communities. Online is great, but "real life" has to come first, and it is so easy to disappear from people who know you online leaving them to wonder, if only for a little while, where you could have disappeared to. Of course, it is different for everyone, and many people just see people online as a bunch of random strangers who have a common interest but no true friendship connection no matter for how long they chat. I'm not one of those when it comes to people I chat with one-on-one for a decent length of time.

However, I've lost anywhere between 50 and 100 connections over the years from people I would chat with one-on-one regularly who, much to my surprise, simply vanished without a goodbye to either the group we started with or to me personally. Even after 10, 15, and 20 years, I still think about some of these people wondering how their lives are going today.

So anyway... hey Eric
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

Never go to bed mad. Sleep on the couch instead.

There are a few broken branches in every family tree.

I am still here.

Jon turned up a few times last month.

I'm still hanging in here... good to see you again Eric! :)

Monday I received an email from Kathy that she sent like 3 months ago.  I thought I'd drop by and say Hi.

Kathy, thanks for your email.  I'm sorry I did not reply, the email address you have is an old one and it's no longer attended.  Your email was waiting there with 340 spam mails.

Yes probably.  Made some big changes in my life lately.  I undid most of the modifications on my truck, sold all the parts and all my overlanding/camping gear and "retired".  I spend more time at home now.

Kathy

Wow - that is big news. I know how much you enjoyed those wild adventures.

If you're missing some old acquaintances, you can always find some new ones, Eric.
So - Hi, I'm Gunnar, and I was fairly invisible here until I retired and got too much time on my hands...  ;)
Welcome back!
