That jerk Pelante was back.

[spoiler]Evidently, Bones finally proposed to Booth..then everyone is in danger again from Pelante.  I don't know exactly what was going on, but they thought Booth was a target but it was really Sweets.. think. Everyone is safe... then Pelante calls Booth on his cell phone, telling him to end the engagement or like 7 random people will be killed.  So that night he does it..she acts like she doesn't care, then leaves the room and starts crying.  So..now there is a huge lie pulling them apart.  I hate Pelante.  This is the second freaking year that they used him to pull them apart.  I mean I know they didn't technically break up, but this is going to screw up the relationship. Thanks for the reminder Marie. Yeah... I wasn't exactly thrilled with that either.

Your welcome.

My irritation wasn't helped by the fact that I read an interview with one of the producers a day after that episode aired...fans were already sharing online how ticked off they were about the episode and how much they dislike Pelante - no clue if I'm spelling his name right or not.  The guy went on about what a great character Pelante is and how strong this story arc is..it isn't going to be resolved any time soon in the new season.  New issues with Booth and Bones..blah blah...all that crap.  Then he also said that they weren't doing their job if they didn't make the fans upset and mad.  Well this is one fan that doesn't go for that.  I don't think a show needs to have constant tension and drama between a couple for it to be a good show.  Let people be happy for goodness sake.

I agree aswell, and the show have lasted for 8 seasons, going on to their 9th. Wich is moved to Fridays (as said before, never a good sign!) IMHO this will be the last season of Bones unfortunatly. Sad to see how the people behind Bones fucked up a real great show really.

Although I agree that the story line has gone astray a few times .. I don't regret that it is leaving.  8 years, some 166 episodes.  That is very respectable.  And it is hard to see any show stay fresh ... heck even after 2-3 seasons.  I hope they are smart enough to write a great 9th season so it can go out well .. no with a wimper
Thank you

I agree it doesn't look good for the show lasting beyond next season.  It has had a good run overall.

Right now, I don't have much faith in them doing a strong season with their insistence on stringing out the crap with Pelante longer.

I agree with you both. And lets be honest, the show has had a great run. Better then most. Even better then FOX'S own House MD. And i'm not taking anything away from them. But what Hart & co have done with the show and the lead characters the few seasons. Dont like it. But 9 seasons is great! Just hope they fix some of the problems they've made.

And to segway even farther .. you mentioned "House M.D.".  It was great for the first few seasons and although there was the occasional episode in the remainder of the years that I liked (and watched most .. self induced torture) that was a show with great promise but really was nothing more than House caring about House and no one else.  Flawed characters are great but the show can't exist just on their flaws.  my 2cents

I don't know, to my mind, in the finale House showed that he did care about someone else alot.

I am quite glad that we won't get Bones until a few weeks after it's been shown Stateside - it means I can read fan reaction and decided whether to bother or not. If they killed off one or two of the main characters in the first episode, then I would probably tune back in, but I'm still going to need convincing before I do.
