Mark Miller:
QuoteKick-Ass was about a kid who loved superhero comics going out dressed up as a superhero and doing what he had always fantasised about doing. The sequel is more like A Clockwork Orange, about a bunch of little shits who are like "Oh my God there's these superheroes out there, let's go and [frick] them up." They dress up as super-villains to try and find them and go about doing robberies and rapes dressed as supervillains. Kick-Ass felt like what a real superhero would be like and Kick-Ass 2 is about what a supervillain would be like, and how would the superhero stop them. There are two major new characters in the next movie. One's called Mother Russia, who's pumped up on steroids – she's the ultimate killing machine. Then there's an older superhero, a retired guy who's fed up with the little shits in the neighbourhood and forms a team of superheroes. I had Johnny Depp in mind when I was writing, but I said that in an interview, then the next day it went on like 500 websites.

I cannot wait for this one.

The general tenor seems to be that Millar isn't a very reliable source on whether this movie will happen or not.

This report is 5 weeks old and since then NOBODY else confirmed this...? Seems like matthias says, Mark Millar babbling to the press again...

QuoteIn the action-comedy sequel Kick-Ass 2 (out June 28), the eponymous hero (Aaron Taylor-Johnson, right) joins a superhero team called Justice Forever, led by Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey, left). Chloe Grace Moretz reprises her role as Mindy, but has "given up Hit Girl and is trying to be a normal teenage," says Jeff Wadlow, who picks up the directing reigns from Matthew Vaughn.

Nice comic book colors.

Is Mindy's story in line with the comic? (Still haven't read it :bag:.)

Here is the main trailer (been out for a while):

A new trailer is highlighting Mindy (It's red band, mainly for language. Viewer's discretion is advised.):

Dragonfire

Somehow I've missed seeing that before.  Looks interesting.

So far it would seem that Mindy is shaping up to be the star of the picture, again.

I am still wondering if I should read the comics first (I have the bridging Hit-Girl comic as well as the actual Kick-Ass: Balls to the Wall) or if I should avoid it and not having the movie spoiled. :hmmmm:

Dragonfire

I don't have any of them and I haven't read any of them.

Jim Carrey On 'Kick-Ass 2': 'In All Good Conscience I Cannot Support That Level Of Violence'

Some people say he might just want to avoid the hustle of promoting the film. Other complain that he is distancing himself from the movie, but probably not from the paycheck. And some others point out that the film was going to be extremely violent from the get go (meaning, it was in the script) and wonder what makes Sandy Hook (a tragedy, no doubt) more special than other violence.
