I don't know if you knew this, but Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell are trying to get a VM movie made.

It's a wish fans often fave, there have been rumors about a Friends movie for years but it never came.

Now Rob and Kristen tried a different approach: They made a deal with Warner Brothers. If they raise more than $2m on their own, WB will finance the marketing and distribution.

They used Kickstarter for this and had the $2m marker within 11 hours!

Now they're at $4.7m.

I, too, backed the project. Some argue that they are milking the fans but in the end it's no different to other fan activities (Have you looked at ticket prices for Star Trek conventions lately?).

I did not give any money, but I don't mind the concept of using Kickstarter for this. If it wasn't done this way, there probably wouldn't be any movie at all, so no harm done. And usually the supporters get something towards their "donation", a DVD for this...?

I can't believe Karsten's post is only a few months old.. Apparently filming is well under way already, as the following video will show. It also includes a teaser trailer with the surprise appearance of...
Jamie Lee Curtis
, which starts at 3:07.

The principal shooting has already been finished and now they're already in post-production.  :yahoo:

I still have to watch the third season...  :bag:  I will get to it.  This could be motivation....

Funny, I read this (awesome) new yesterday.  Then while I was working yesterday, I put on my headphones to listen to some music and the theme song came on.  With 5,000+ songs on shuffle, that was an odd coincidence!
