Currently in its 9th season, what are peoples thoughts on this show, especially compared to ER?

I've never watched an episode but the wonderful Kathy sent me seasons 1-3 ages ago and I'm just about to hit up season 1 (marked in progress in my signature). I did notice a strange number of episodes in each of the first three seasons: 9, 26, 25. Usually you get 13 or 24. ???

I havent seen it, but heard both great things about it
and not so great things about it. I think Pete really enjoy Greys tho.

Yeah.... it is actually my favorite medical drama. I have really enjoyed it all the way from the pilot episode to the current airing episodes. I haven't watched ER in years...  but I do remember enjoying it. But not as much as Grey's... I like all the characters... all the storylines... both medical and the doctor's personal lives. There is a load of big episodes. I think you will like it. Be sure to let us know once you start watching it. :)

Watched disc one which has 5 of the 9 episodes. So far, I'm unsure. I prefer the situations and the characters in ER by far at the moment, but Grey's does have a good cast and some really dark humour that I'm enjoying so I'll see how it pans out. I'll watch the final four episodes of season 1 tonight.

My review of season 1. I think with a longer season and more character development that it will grow on me.

btw, I didn;t miss anything important in episode 7 and the first half of episode 8? The disc kept skipping on me. :(

glad to hear it is growing on you.  :) I would have to re-watch those episodes to tell you... it has been a while since I seen them. hmmmm....  :tv:

Oh no - sorry about that Sam.

If you don't mind risking the disc, if it skips why not, I remember someone here saying to put it in hot water. Wait until you get more input because I don't remember how hot it should be.

If the disc has scratches, I think toothpaste helps that.

No scratches at all. I have found that my region free player is struggling these days though. Sometimes it takes it a few attempts to load the disc.

Kathy

I think you should keep watching the series though - I think it gets a lot better as it goes on.

I like it, just don't think the characters developed enough in the first 9 episodes. Like I said in my review though, I do think it will grow on me.

Kathy

I had to look up one episode because it was so shocking - you don't have long to wait because it's in season 2.

Was wondering if you started season 2 yet. I am sitting here now watching one of my favorite episodes. And it is from season 2. Where they have to deal with a train wreck.

looking forward to hearing your thoughts on season 2 :)

It'll be a while till I get round to season 2 I think. Away working for three weeks from Tuesday (no access to R1 player) and with the problems with my multi-region player at the moment, I shall be buying a new one that will go with a new set-up based around whichever projector I get.
