[spoiler]The daughter or a descendent. Or maybe the Dalek after she deactivated the force field engaged an "emergency temporal shift" and the companion we're about to see is a flesh avatar of said Dalek. Who's to know with a weird show like Who. [/spoiler]

I have been holding off on "225 - Doctor Who - S07E01 - Asylum of the Daleks" as have been trying to get through all the 'new' series.  Got to 6.4 but moving all my ripped TV files (from my dvds) from 1 1tb drive to a new 2tb drive.  Couldn't watch any of season 6 this AM as the copy wasn't complete .. so i decided to just jump into 7.1.

No spoilers here .. but think I am getting tired of the enemy .. need to reach back into the annals of Doctor Who and find some new threats ..

Well, that was rubbish.
As much as it pains me to say this, but the Dalek episode was actually the best of the first batch.

What do you think so far of Peter Capaldi as the new doctor? I like him so far. His way of talking reminds me of Christopher Lloyd's character in the serious Taxi though.

I am not enjoying him, the character, the scripts at all.  I don't find a single bit of humanity in him just a throwback to some of the angry cranky doctors of the past.  Hope it changes but at least we have Clara

I have to catch up with the last 2...they are on my DVR.  So I'm still not sure yet. 
There was a point in the first episode when I was like what the hell and what happened to the Doctor?
