Umm, thread to post about what movies you've just watched but can't be bothered to write about for 'marathons'... in case people want to discuss them!

** = first viewing

Last few days:
Kidulthood (2006)** - At times, a little much, but a good young cast and a gritty film. Wouldn't say it is a UK 'Kids' though because Kids is far superior. 3.5/5

Shaun of the Dead (2004) - Love it. Seen many times. 5/5

Hot Fuzz (2007) - Love it. Seen many times. 5/5

Nancy Drew (2007)** - Not bad, enjoyed Bruce Willis' cameo and thought Emma Roberts was surprisingly good in the lead. 3/5

Derailed (2005)** - Average for the most, but I enjoyed the ending even though I saw it coming a mile away. 3.5/5

Baseketball (1998)** - Better than average comedy with some very funny moments. I'm not a South Park fan, but have so far enjoyed the Parker/Stone movies I've seen. 3.5/5

Gamer (2009)** - I found this one difficult to get into, but it was OK for the most part. A generous 2.5/5

Swamp Shark (2011)** - Typical Syfy channel creature feature with a very silly ending. Worth a look for low budget creature feature fans. 2.5/5

In the last 2 days ive watched
Manhunter (1st time,I wasnt keen on this film really, stick with red dragon lol)

Paul (2011) - Not as good as Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead but then it didn't have Edgar Wright directing. 4/5

12 Rounds (2009) - Above average action movie with John Cena. Held up on second viewing. 3.5/5

What Happens in Vegas (2008) - Real stars are Lake Bell and Rob Cordry. Film is what you expect. 3/5

Miracle on 34th Street (1994) - Well, Christmas is just round the corner... 3.5/5

Hot Tub Time Machine (2010) - Seen this a few times now and I just find it very funny in all the right moments. 4/5

Border Blues (2004)** - This Gary Busey/Eric Roberts movie seemingly had a $10m budget. They must have had a $9.5m wrap party. 1/5

Best Men (1997)** - Enjoyable enough. I enjoyed the finals scenes, and the scenes with the old women being questioned by the FBI after being released but otherwise nothing special. 3/5

Bulworth (1998)** - Warren Beatty is fantastic here, as is Oliver Platt and Halle Berry. Made me laugh quite a few times and although it is very humourous it does have some serious meaning. 4/5

I couldn't get on with Hot Tub. Loved the moments with Chevy Chase, but otherwise, it just hit me wrong. I'll give it another go someday.

I'm going to try and get all my above into my marathon over the next few days.

I just watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes. My brother got it from Netflix and I wanted to check it out before he sent it back. I thought it was pretty good. I can see myself adding it to my collection at some point.

IMHO "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" is much better than "Planet of the Apes (2001)"! I did not regret to purchase this movie!  ;)

Jimmy

even the short lived Planet of the Apes TV serie was better than the 2001 remake

I must admit, Thorsten, I was thrown by you having a humble opinion too! Saying Rise of the Planet of the Apes is better than the 2001 remake is like saying a blowjob is better than being set on fire.  ;)
