Jon and Erich Hoeber (Battleship) were hired to write the film earlier this year and now Summit have announced a release date of August 2nd 2013. Nothing else is known.

The first one was fun. I like to see old-timers kick butt, like it was in The Wild Geese already, or The Expendables more recently. Morgan Freeman, Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren(!) had fun playing their roles. The story is not extremely special and somewhat predicatble in parts, but the fun factor is high enough to get over that.

I liked Red too..it was really fun.

This has been moved up a couple of weeks to July 19th.

I hope it is as good a hoot as the first one.  Just got "A Good Day to Die Hard" and watched another couple times.  Bruce Willis is seasoning well.  Just seems to bring out the best in others.
