That game sounds interesting.  I may have to check on it sometime.  Though I still have to go back to Bioshock.

RossRoy

Hahaha wouldn't you know it!

First interrogation - First time having to decide "Truth" "Doubt" or "Lie" ... gut feeling says one thing ... i think "can't be that easy!" so choose the other option ... bam! gut feeling was right! hahaha

I love that game already! ;)

It was it the case with guy getting shot on the sidewalk right...?

In which case
I'd bet it was also that "fake" arm gesture of Camilla that threw you off! I thought the way she lifted her hand when she was sobbing looked too obvious and maybe was just badly done, I disregarded it as a hint :slaphead:
Be reminded, that here they actually pretty much told you what to do! :bag:, as that was just the training! I also didn't notice it at first and ended up playing this case three times to see how things play out differently.

So far I love it too. I hope the repetitiveness won't be too bad. ...and according the trophies/achievement list we'll be playing many/most cases twice (they have replay options).

Did you know you can play in black and white?

Yeah I saw that while looking through the options. Kinda neat, considering the Noire film influence. Though I'll still play with colors.

I tried turning off the hint clue thing (ding and controller shake) ... pff there's some evidence I wouldn't even notice in 100 years without it!
A gun reflection in a window? Shiiiit!
Dragonfire

Do you have to fight anyone or anything in this one?  Or is it all just looking for clues and questioning suspects?

RossRoy

There are chases, both on foot and in car, shootings, and fighting. But all these elements can be skipped (there's an option to make them mandatory or to allow you to skip them - defaults to allow skip) and you can concentrate on evidence gathering and questioning suspects and witnesses.

Najemikon

Ok, you guys need to shut the hell up. I'm on the verge of buying a frickin' PS3 and relinquishing my membership of the "Never-Buy-A-Bloody-Console-Because-They-Are-Shit" club. :surrender:

Dragonfire

That game does sound interesting.  I haven't gotten a game right when it came out in ...hmm...ever I think.  But this one is tempting.

RossRoy

There one feature I hate about the game so far ... and it's that it tells you after each interrogation how you did (5/6 questions correct) and because of music clues you know exactly which one it was .. so what do you do? Go back and redo the interrogation ...

I wish the game wouldn't tell me so I would just go on and have to find more clues instead of feeling compelled to redo the interrogation

I wonder how that particular could be found without the clue system. I am going to keep it turned on as well. Still missed a few with it active :bag: (...and with the clue music still playing, apparently).

There is clue-music during interrogations as well? Hadn't noticed that. But you also don't redo stuff in RPGs, why here...? Sure, later I will go through again, as there are trophies associated with this, but my first playthrough will (mostly) be "original".

PSN in Asia still offline :redcard:

EDIT:
Portal 2's soundtrack, along with some ringtones, is available through the official website, for the low price of FREE!

Honestly? I have no idea why in RPGs I just run with it .. and for L.A. Noire I feel like redoing the interviews. But I'm getting better at running with it now. Actually, now that I think of it, I haven't redone a single interview since posting that! Yay me!

(of course, to be honest, I haven't played Noire as much as I wanted .. I've been caught up in finishing Lost: The Complete Series (1 episode to go!))

Have you got Portal 2 on the PC, Achim? If so, you can use GCFScape to open the pak01_dir.vpk file.

I was reminded after noticing that link didn't include the song! How can "Want You Gone" not be included? :voodoo: Anyway, it's easy to extract with that tool and so are all the turret noises. So my 'new message' tone on my phone is about to become, "Are you there?"  I've attached it as an example...  :P

Yes, no, maybe.

Well, technically, I have it on Steam, so I can have it on any platform that has Steam. But I have my Steam on OS X, so not sure I trhat would work. Maybe inside the package...? I could install the client in t´he VM, but that might not work properly. BUT, I need the PSN for this, as I need to connect my game to my Steam account first. As reported above and re-checked this morning, PSN is still not back up in Asia. :(

Well, the soundtrack is labelled Volume I. That indicates that there is potential for Volume II ;) ...which then might include the song you are looking for. However, I doubt soundbits will be included, so having access to the sound-archive is great.

The current version of iOS cannot use personalized message alerts; you can assign different alerts todifferent people, but only use Apple's sounds. Hopefully iOS 5 will change this. "Are you there?" seems such a gre4at choice for a message alert

We are back :yahoo:

Finally this morning PSN Asia (except Hong Kong and Korea) went back offline. Now I can install Portal 2 on my Mac (not that I will be playing it a lot on it ); which it's doing right now.

Jon, I have added you as a friend on Steam, supposedly waiting for confirmation from you (your name is not showing in my list now). If you aren't done yet, we could schedule a co-op session for Portal 2 anytime now (although, they announced more maintenance :fingerchew:). If anyone else uses Steam and wants to add me, my username is the same as for PSN: ya_shin56

 • I miss the "GPS". I understand it doesn't make sense with the time setting, but heck, in RDR we had the path indicated on the mini-map, why not here? Makes you stop the game and look at the map way too often. BTW, that map is huge.
:slaphead: I must have missed the informational prompt, if there was one. Sure, there's no GPS, but Cole has a partner... After watching the review by Australia's Good Game team I have learned that Square on the PS3 or X on the XBOX360 will make the partner give verbal directions

Do Rockstar ever get that right immediately...? I think I had button problems (meaning the Asian version) with GTA4, RDR and now L.A. Noire. When I look at the in-game Social Club page I have to click X to view my firends' stats (although it says O), but X is also mapped to the exit function :stars: They usually patch this out eventually, but it can take months :-\ (like in RDR)

I usually just follow the little yellow flag, turning whenever I feel like it, and eventually get to my destination. I did get myself into a cul-de-sac now and again though ;)

Also, I just got berated by the captain for the first!
Completely messed up the interrogations on the "Golden Butterfly" case for some reason .. and while I know which questions I missed (because of the music clue) I have no idea what is the right answer.
