From what I read, you can basically play it like an interactive movie. There's hint levels to choose from, there's a mechanism to skip action scenes if you've failed them a few times, etc.

I know I won't skip action scene .. but I'm torn on the hint level. I want to go hint-less and solve it all by myself .. but at the same time, I have spending 25 hours trying to find that elusive clue .. we'll see.

Yes, same information I read/heard.

The hints have to be "earned", I believe. So you collect some kind of "points" by doing things successfully first which in turn allows you to "buy" hints using these points. Under such a system I wouldn't feel all that bad to use them. I am not sure how it will work if you don't find certain clues, but the case may eventually just become unsolvable. :headscratch:

From part experience with Rockstar games? I'm guessing you can go totally wrong on a case and put an innocent in jail .. only to have it come back and bite you in the ass later! That would totally be awesome! ;)

I think it's also a sandbox game so open world... Definately looks good though.

I got two games from Lovefilm today, Monster Jam and Saw. Made a start on Monster Jam, not bad but something I am glad I've rented rather than bought. Put about 2-3 hours into it so far and already have 200/1000 (supposed to take 20 hours total to finish).

Yes, I meant that if you miss a clue and then miss the next clue and the next as well, then that would happen. You either get the wrong guy or none at all.

Yes. But you are supposed to advance your career through various departments. So, I wonder if you can proceed and still have cases open from the previous department...? :headscratch: I think they said you get to be a traffic cop, drugs, homicide and others. But I also get from the descriptions, that there must be like one "case" or theme going through all the cases, like the thread that keeps everything together and will provide the climax of the game.

I was playing Zoo Keeper on the DS yesterday.  It's one of those games where you are matching 3 or more of the same thing together but it's one that doesn't actually scream "Tetris Rip-Off!" at you.   I also recently tried Goldeneye 007 for my DS which I bought myself on my birthday.  I got killed right away but it seems fun and I'm sure I'll enjoy it more when I have time to really devote to it.

What's the point? To fuel fanboyism? I mean, we all get the game (well ... sorry PC ... for now anyway), what's more to ask? Why even mention it?

Anyway ...

That being said: I still can't wait! Getting more and more pumped up about it!

Well, just got the full 1000/1000 on Monster Jam. :)

Next up for me, Saw: The Videogame

Saw the Video game was a big surprise to me.... I really enjoyed it! I hope you do to!

I've done 2/7 'missions' as it were so far (and got 500/1000 gs) and whilst quite easy it's managed to keep in tone with the films rather well. Will hopefully get it finished tomorrow.

Downloaded and beat in about 10 minutes for the full 200/200 that free arcade game from Doritos, Harms Way. Could actually be a fun game if the controls were a littloe better.

I totally agree. Always makes my eyes roll uncontrolably...

Wasn't L.A. Noire exclusive in the beginning...? :hmmmm: Which would even make it natural to have that as the "lead console", since they started with it. But maybe confirmation for XBOX360 simply came late.

PSN services are finally switched on again.

A firmware update is already available; password change will be mandatory and must be done on the PS3 it was originally registered (otherwise a e-mail confirmation process can be used, which I will need ro do). PSN is being switched on region after region; I am at the far end of the world, so I'll be among the last :weep:

Let me know when you're done and maybe we should try and set up one of the co-ops. I haven't seen the robots yet.
Now that I am getting back online functionality shortly and can connect my PS3 to Steam, we'd be able to schedule some gaming at some point. Unless you already completed the co-op, that is.

Finished up Saw: The Videogame for alll 1000/1000GS. Not a bad game and have now added the second to my rental queue. Probably go back to some games I have been working on for a while now, Forza 2 and Baja 1000, both with a few races to win.

I spoke too soon :(

Since I still was cut off after 48 hours since they started resuming service in the US I consulted Google. Found one news report that confirmed my fears: Asia is being treated separately and service will only restart later. So, still some time for me to wait :weep: Admittedly, I don't actually play much online, but it's still odd it not being there

If at L.A. Noire was out already (it's available in North America, but Europe and Asia only get it on May 20. :weep:

Just finished Half-Life 2 last night, for the first time ever. Great shooter, but it started to feel repetitive towards the end. A bit odd, given that it was quite varied actually :headscratch: I'd start Episode One right away, but L.A. Noire is coming soon...
