Doctor Who: The Complete Specials  $25.99

Doctor Who: The Complete Specials

I haven't ordered this yet...but I have until Saturday, so I'm positive I will.  And it will be another purchase that is Jon's fault.  ;)

;D I'm actually quite proud! Just don't send me the bill...  :bag:

I guess I'm lucky that I never got into Doctor Who myself though I did once have a friend who was into it.  The only TV version I ever saw was with Tom Baker.  I did see the movie Doctor Who and the Daleks as well...  ::)

Dragonfire

Well there is always time to rectify that.   ;D
You can join the converts...give in to Doctor Who

Dragonfire

Hey now....Doctor Who is damn good.

Jon....talk some sense into him. ;)

Roger, you sound like me. I grew up with Doctor Who regularly on the telly and never liked it (even so, that film is not canon. It isn't proper Doctor Who and instead is proper Awful...). However, the relaunch is very different. Look out for episodes with the new Doctors in and then you might reconsider your pukey smiley!

Dragonfire

Roger, do you get BBC America with your cable?  Doctor Who airs on there during the week...5 pm I think.

Well...I've done it.  I just ordered it.  Still in time to get it Friday it says.

This is so your fault Jon.  ;)

The new Blu-ray deal of the week at Amazon is Lost: The Complete Series.  If I had watched the show, I'd be very tempted.

To answer Marie, I think I might get BBC America.  The problem there is 5pm is a time when there is something else I usually watch.

Speaking of Blu-ray, though, does anyone here have the Blu-ray edition of the Steve Martin movie Roxanne?  I wonder if it's worth getting as my local supermarket currently has that for $9.99.

Dragonfire

Ok..If I remember right, Doctor Who also airs in the mornings...I just can't remember what time right now.

Rogmeister

Well, I can check on that later...but with my luck, it probably airs at 11am!  :tv:

Dragonfire

I don't think it's at 11, but I can't remember for sure.

Najemikon

I wouldn't have thought Roxanne takes advantage of Blu-Ray as it's only a drama that doesn't push the photography. Remember your player will likely upscale DVD so don't underestimate the potential of the original release if you already have it or if it's very cheap.

That said I have found a lot of older released DVD are shocking quality. Some distributors just didn't bother and a new tv doesn't half reveal there sins!
