It's the first time I notice that also, maybe it's new... But I know that on the french one the price decrease a lot when my orders are completed (they sure seems to pay a lot of taxes)...

Since the day of the release is coming soon (december 13, it was delayed).

For this film this is good enough for me. This is long before looking at the large amount of special features... Looking forward to receive my copy.

Of course for me it's the dvd set so the review doesn't touch me, but I'm sure that even if the image quality won't be the same as the BR is it will be an improvment of the dvd I currently own.

According to dvdp it was released 8 years ago already

Woo-Hoo, despatched this afternoon at 15:04 . Hopefully will be with me earlyish next week. I say hopefully as I currently have 3 ordinary parcels from amazon UK, 1 tracked parcel from amazon UK, 1 ordinary parcel from amazon UK marketplace and 1 ordinary parcel from HMV all outstanding from the end of last week or the beginning of this week .

My Harry Potter set arrived today, so hopefully Battle Royale will make it through too...

They estimate it will be here the january 5 of next year, but they sure play safe. Normally it will be here at the end of next week (it's usually shorter than a delivery from the US).

My Battle Royale shipped last week. Should be here end of this week or sometime next.

The review at blu-ray.com was slightly less favorable, but 3 stars for picture quality is still considered and upgrade, I guess.

And arrived today. Not  opened it yet but looking good, 5 thinpacks - 1: Theatrical Cut, 2: Director's Cut, 3: Special Features, 4: Booklets and finally 5: Comic & Postcards

I can't fight the impression that while your place isn't exactly the arse of the world, you at least can very well see it from the window in your living room. 
Where do you live in Canada that it takes an ordinary parcel two weeks or more to arrive??
