 I tell you... I said it last year but said the heck with it... but next year I am only abstaining for the month of September. I can't take these 2 to 3 months (or more) without horror!

I started to get that set at one time... but decided that I had too many of the listed titles already to really make it worth it.

But I definitely think it is worth it... 50 movies for only $12.99.... like someone told me when I bought that 100 movie set cheap like that... if there is even 1 movie in the set I like then it was worth the money I paid. And I see more then one in that set of 50 I personally like...

- Night of the Living Dead
- Nosferatu
- The Bat
- The Last Man on Earth
- Dementia 13
- Carnival of Souls
- The Terror

There is 7 titles there alone I liked... so I would say it is worth the price. Just don't go into it expecting very good Audio/Video quality. They would definitely be watchable... but far from great.

Well I just checked on Amazon again...thinking I was going to go ahead and order it. The price has jumped back up to $16.49. So I'll wait and see if it drops again.

Try with marketplace. I never had any big problems with any of them (US, Canada, UK and Germany) when I've use them. The first one (used 12.99) at 99% is perfectly safe and the first two new (13.19 and 13.20) at 99% and 98% are also.

I wonder if The Thing From Another World can be used for the horror marathon?  James Arness plays an alien but it's more science fictiony than horror.  I just ordered this from Amazon.  It may not matter anyway...because on it it said "Usually ships in 1 to 2 months".  I'm not sure why that is...but it means October may be over by the time it arrives anyway.

Jimmy

Of course it can ;D Horror and science fiction aren't that different (unless it's boring stuff like Star Wars or ET).

Amazon say that if you don't trust me :

With its modest special effects, lean plot, and small cast of lesser stars, this 1951 thriller remains a sturdy blueprint for fusing horror and science fiction. The formula has been employed countless times since, fleshed out with more extensive and elaborate production values, and manned by higher profiled marquee names, but the results have yet to improve on The Thing from Another World, Howard Hawks's lone foray into sci-fi.

Rogmeister

Well, if I had science fiction movies (at least those with creatures in them), then it does add a bit to what I have to pick from in my own marathon choices.

This is the longest I ever gone without watching any horror!  The last horror I watched was June 20th. As of today I am 100 days horror free! And I still have a while to wait! :stars: :surrender:

I am not going this long next year!

You could start your abstinence on November 1st.  :tomato: :suicide:
I'd personally suggest you for the Guinness Book of World Records then. :yu:

100 days horror free. That has a nice ring to it. Doesn't it?

102 days horror free? Not so much.

You've beaten your record. You can proudly proclaim the nicer sounding "I have 100 days of horror free".

I think you should watch a horror DVD right now. No, I think you need to watch a horror DVD right now.

 Almost convinced me... but I have to make it till the 1st... There is no way I can fail now!

There is no way I can fail now!
 Ooh, you could ... it would be so easy ... and so satisfying ... just think of the head-start this would give you for your Marathon

...

You'd have to live with a considerable amount of mockery though  :tease: :P
