And we are back into the unknown....

We just found out that my brother has more wrong with him. But don't ask what because I don't have the slightest of ideas. All I know is apparently I guess they got some tests back and found more problems. They are going to go ahead with the second operation... but after that they are going to send him to John Hopkins Hospital where they can give him the care that the local hospital over here cannot.

I have to wonder if whatever they seen in his tests is the cause of his hair falling out in splotches as it is. Hopefully his girlfriend that is over at the hospital with him can tell us more soon. Like WTF is wrong with him!

What tests was the diagnosis made from? The blood work? X-Rays?

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Find out what is going on. Write everything down - because this is so stressful it is hard to remember things.

Since I am not there I am getting all my info second handed. I do know that my other brother said they took a lot of blood when he was first admitted. So I imagine it was from blood tests.

OK... it seems I was a little confused. I was just in the living room talking to my other brother. We do indeed know what else is wrong with him... He has a flesh eating bacteria. We are not sure how he got it or anything like that. But that is what they told him. The are sending him to John Hopkins tomorrow morning.

Pete, the clinical name of what he has is Necrotizing Fasciitis. It is a very rare bacterial infection that can be very serious.

If you are going to look it up on the computer, I would recommend you go to http://www.webmd.com. This is a reputable site that will give you reliable information.

I've heard about those things...they scare me.

It is good that they are going to send him to john Hopkins so he gets the best treatment.

How far away is that from where you live?

I couldn't say exactly... about 2 or 3 hour drive. We live in Maryland... but a good distance from Baltimore. And it has been years since I been there. John Hopkins is where Britt was born.

Will someone be able to go to be there with him?  His girlfriend?

Yeah... she will be able to be there with him... probably the whole time. They have living quarters right there where you can stay close by since they get patients from all over.

That's good.  I think it helps when people can have family with them
